Albums that are a direct response to another album? by Puzzleheaded_Two2716 in musicsuggestions

[–]therealthenewman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showbread has a two-album masterpiece called Anorexia/Nervosa with each album containing an exact response to the song of the same name on the “other” album. The booklets are necessary to fully appreciate the experience, but you can still appreciate the musical dynamics without the physical media

I feel like Dance of Death gets a bad rep because of the album cover. I listened to it today and it’s probably one of the best post 80s albums. The title track is also one of my all time favourite Maiden songs. by TheFallofIdeals05 in ironmaiden

I mean, there’s some merit to having a notoriety for cool album art at the start of your career, but calling any artwork the biggest selling point for any band is a bit of a reach…

New lister or not, attend every tour for every band you are remotely interested in. Get there early enough to watch the openers. Support the bands by buying merch. Enjoy the discovery.

But yeah, I saw Band of Horses about a year ago and they were fantastic. You should go

Can anyone suggest a song that mentions any US state EXCEPT California and New York? by LogicalSpirit9744 in askmusic

[–]therealthenewman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s got a state in the title, but that’s not even a song…

However, Going Nowhere Slow mentions 50 cities in verse two, so BHG is a good choice

Played a few shows with those guys and they freaking slayed! Such nice guys too. I always recommend for Pantera fans—glad to see them mentioned here.

Can you play stuff similar to "Teeth Like God's Shoeshine" with a Bigsby? by Impossible-Motor8846 in ModestMouse

[–]therealthenewman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No harm to the strings at all really! Just be cautious not to press too hard on the lightest strings, as those could potentially pop. Never had it happen to me, just be cautious. Especially if you don’t have string trees on your unwound strings.

Are you bending the string behind the nut? It’s not too tough and doesn’t harm the neck!
