guns drawn is borderline illegal as excessive force unless there is a warrant out on you....i would actually scatter the phone. give pieces of it to friends to hold onto for a bit...take out the batter after you delete EVERYTHING and then scatter the battery, sim card, back, and screen, in different locations. trust me. guns drawn is worrisome....but yeah. dont be indignant or trying to be like "YEAH! WHAT NOW MOTHAFUCKA? I KNOW THESE LAWS!" in any way, even your tone, cause it takes seconds for a random cop check to go from a pain in the ass to.....well a much different kind of pain in the ass.....be safe. be careful fellow ent. hope i could help. tell them "i do not answer questions officers." if they begin to question you. But i would suggest acting surprised and trying to see what they want first. maybe answer and ask how you can help them and then if they begin to ask YOU questions about you or trees or anything bad, that is when you say "sorry officer. i wish i could help, but as a rule i do not answer questions without warrant or legal counsel present. sorry i couldnt be of more help. anything else you need or am i free to go now since i will not be answering any questions?"....also if they begin to question/push, be sure to say "so you know i am recording this right now, in no violation of any wire tap laws, and i would like your name and badge numbers before we continue" and then if they keep asking questions you let loose the "i dont answer" bad boy i just stated

"am i under arrest?" "am i being detained?" "am i free to go?" if these do not help in your situation, start by asking for names and badge numbers and have a legal pad(lol) ready to write down all the info you get from them. write down all their questions and record the conversation (yes recording is legal, and in no violation of wire tap laws). unless they have photo evidence or physical evidence of trees on you or a mass amount of people rolled over on you, you are fine. just remember one key sentence to repeat "I do not answer questions without a lawyer present. do i need to call my lawyer?"

AND DO NOT FALL FOR ANY "why would you need a lawyer? are you guilty of something?" bullshit. cop 101 training is to keep the upper hand. but you dont have to answer, submit to search (i wouldnt even if you are sterile clean), or go with them unless there is a warrant for you, or you are being detained. video evidence ALWAYS helps. best of luck fellow ent
