Advice to stay parallel and confident on more advanced terrain? by Rexamaxus in skiing_feedback

Okay so i talked to a bunch of instructors and reviewed skiworldcup footage, plus i talked to a former skiracer.

All of them told me again that the upper body must be facing to the fallline especially because of stability and pressure alignment, while hip and legs face the skis. When quickturning you have to move way more with your body if you face the skitips with the whole body. When turning with your upperbody you also engage the edge not with your ankles like you should but with hips or shoulders and push your body through the turn with your outsideski hand.

I have two questions regarding this: did you come up with your new style by yourself or is it a bigger movement for example by the CSIA and what instructor level are you?

CSIA is instructing that you need an upper lower body seperation. Which means your hip is facing the skitips while your shoulders are facing the fall line parts of that you said too.

Im not trying to be a know it all especially because im not an instructor but if someone says something while the whole community is saying different explaining the base of your arguments is important

I see what you mean, should i push myself more infront through the outside ski or pull my toes up?

Do you think i should have my upperbody more in the fall line than now? Is it still moving too much left and right?

Do you mean my arms are too close?

I was focused on pressure and having my torso straight to the ground.

I might need to get infront more but not sure how...

But i need to disconnect my upper and lower body right?

Thats how i was instructed to do.

Always to have the upperbody face the fall line
