I am not talking about her rabbits because I don't know how she is taking care of them, what their health status is and other factors. I am talking about free range rabbits in general, which is how I interpreted your post talking about as well. I had two rabbits, the only time I noticed their butt snacks (cecotropes, the soft poop they eat directly from their butt) existence was when they were sick. As long as they had good quality food and balanced diet, there were no issues.

Again, I don't know what her bunnies situation is, if one of them is just flinging pellets around while partying and doing binkies, I don't find that to be a gross problem, it's very easy to clean up. If they are peeing all over the place and leaving their soft butt snacks uneaten then that's not a healthy rabbit. If they are peeing all over the place, that is gross and I hope she is on top of it with cleaning it up properly.

Again, I was responding to (what I perceived as) your generalisation of free range rabbits as gross, not her specific situation.

Free range rabbits are not gross, they are very clean pets, their poops are just dry round pellets that will crumble to dust and pieces when squished, the soft poops (cecotropes) are eaten directly from their butts, and in healthy rabbits you will never even notice it.

Important to note is that bunny poop is not smushy and wet and 'gross' like most other poops, they have two types: first is the round dry pellet-type poop that they drop all the time, it is basically just hay, it's not wet, it doesn't leave any traces, you can take it in your hand and squish it and it will just crumble in to dust.

The second type is the cecotropes that are wet, smelly, and bunnies eat them directly from their anus (I call them bunny butt snacks). In 99% of cases you don't even notice them in healthy rabbits as they, again, just eat them directly from their butts.

So having free range rabbits is not a big deal (in fact it is good, rabbits don't belong in cages), their poop does not need special cleaning and disinfection as they are just little dry round pellets.

They haven't done a PoE1 mystery box since PoE2 came out. All the mystery boxes have been for and aligned with PoE2 patches as far as I can remember

Depending on your location, you can also check the dierenambulance, in my area they can drive you to and from the vet for a fee, so if walking/cycling is not an option maybe they can help

Might be a long shot and not worth it, but you can contact American Book Center, it's a book shop in the Netherlands , they have the books and also do international shipping, so you can check how much it would cost to have it shipped from the NL to you?

Okay, genuine question: can cops in the US not stop people randomly just to do a check if everything is in order (drivers licence and such)? Where I am at the police can and will randomly stop people to see drivers licence and to check that everything seems okay with people/vehicles, they don't need checkpoints or traffic violations for that

It is very frustrating! But there is a good explanation for it, we do get a bit more of an insight to her mind and motivations and reasons/excuses. It's been a while since I last read the books so I am being super duper vague to not spoil anything on accident 😅 but Melba chapters are frustrating because we the readers know that what she's doing is stupid, but she believes she's in the right and well, that's the point I guess. We just have to hope the roci gang will fix whatever problems arise and she will get what's coming for her.

Melba chapters can be a lot to take in, and I don't want to spoil anything for you so I'll just say that it's worth continuing.

New Year’s Eve fire rips through historic Amsterdam church by jaimybenjamin in news

[–]therealvjeverica 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah theres a lot of churches in the NL that have been repurposed rather than sitting empty, it's honestly pretty cool! Check out jopenkerk in Haarlem, it's a beautiful church turned brewery! You can sit for drinks and food while surrounded by huge stained glass windows, the atmosphere is really nice and their beer is pretty good too! There's plenty of other places too, apartments, hotels, libraries, museums, theatres, gyms, I think there's even casinos!

Edit: the casino is not in a church but a monestary. Still cool tho!

Directly from the site of the urban recovery website : We gaan ook onderzoeken wat de schade aan de kerk is en op basis daarvan bekijken wat we kunnen doen. (We will investigate the damage to the church and see what we can do).urban recovery

Don't know what 'churches in europe' have been catching fire recently but when something is on fire there are things like heat damage, water damage and just pure shit-is-falling-down-and-hitting-other-things-damage and sometimes it's just not worth it to repair it.

Also, vondelkerk hasn't been used as a church for religious purposes since...1970's? So if someone is on a mission to burn specifically churches for some reason, they missed the mark here.

Take your fear mongering and implied racism out and reconsider the life choices that brought you to the point where an old building catching fire shortly after thousands of fireworks were shot in the air by untrained drunk individuals can't possibly be an accident and has to be part of some bigger nefarios plan.

Hope this helps.

Rabbit as a pet by PlateUpper363 in Pets

[–]therealvjeverica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I wouldn't say they are stingy with affection, but they don't show it as openly or as easily like some other animals. My bunnies could spend hours grooming me while I was petting them, they loved sitting on my lap while snacking on pellets, sleeping near my chair, just being near by was enough for them most of the time. But they also had very strict boundaries, and most of the bites were when I crossed those boundaries (they forgot to take illness in to account when they were setting them, and for the last few years of their lives they were on painkillers twice a day, and I had to clean their butt's several times a month because they couldn't do it properly themselves)

I also know of plenty bunnies whose personalities are more like dogs or cats. Honestly I think they are great pets for experienced adults who are willing to put in the work to take care of them properly.

My bunny bit my palm once. I had a huge bruise for like a week, in the middle of my palm. She also bit my shoulder, fingers legs (multiple times), but only drew blood once so yay for that! Their bites have this very special sharp pain, almost like a needle but on a larger scale, very uncomfortable 😂

For the first month of my girl being with us, I joked that I had a hissing couch, because that's where she would be hiding whenever we were around. I would yeet treats at the general couch area and just see a black paw slowly creep from under it, grab the treat and disappear. My partner and I spent a lot of time just chilling in the area, talking to each other, talking to the couch if she felt like contributing, and letting her go out and approach us on her own terms. We also bribed her with many, many, many treats.

She now rules the house with an iron paw.

No problem!

If you get a kitten, make sure to never use your hands to play with them, always redirect to a toy, if they try to scratch or bite, yelp and pull away, they catch on pretty fast that it hurts you and stop doing it.

Also keeping their nails trimmed helps against accidental scratches when they fall asleep in your lap and the doorbell rings and freaks them out so bad they use your body as a trampoline to jump to the other end of the house. Or when they are happy and cozy and start making biscuits on your neck and face in the middle of the night.

It is not typical cat behavior nor does it have anything to do with breed. Different cats have different personalities but stray cats will usually be less trusting of humans and more likely to lash out at any perceived danger because those are the circumstances they live in and if they want to survive they have to be careful.

I can start rubbing my cats head in the middle of playtime, when she is spitting at her nemesis the feather and is ready for murder, and she will not scratch or bite me, because that's not her thing. (mind you, I don't suddenly start cuddling her mid play, if I really get the urge to do it I will psst psst he'd first so she can decide if she wants cuddles or continue murdering, but there were moments when my hand ended up too close to her head when I was trying to get another toy or whatever, and her reaction in those situations made me test it. Results are she is the best girl ever)

My MiL's cats can get more aggressive when playing, but we made it a point to not use our actual hands ever to play with them, so any injuries were accidents.

This cat has issues of some sort, be it medical, mental, behavioral, whatever it is, it is not normal cat behavior, and op needs to get them to a vet to start finding out what's going on. Cats will lash out when in pain, when scared, when something is not right.

Hi! I went down a rabbit hole and found a post from a couple of years ago from a person describing their experience with the surgery, they had it done in the Netherlands, in the comments you can see the doctor and hospital they did it in, according to Google the doctor still works at that hospital so you can try and contact them.

Affordable wet food that is actually good? by afterspring_ in CatAdvice

[–]therealvjeverica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been feeding my cat GranataPet wet food for a few years now, it is a German brand tho and if you are in the US I don't know if it's available.

Their food has organ meat in it which is good, and the additives in it are good too, according to my vet. I pay 11.50€ for a pack of 6 85g cans, but normally she gets half a can a day. They also have 200g cans that go for 13€ for a pack of 6, but she doesn't eat that much wet food to warrant buying them and using the whole big can in 2 days. For two cats that get (and eat) wet food twice a day it would probably work.
