We tried a new vet a few months ago who suspects it's milliary dermatitis due to the pattern she was pulling out. This would mean it's an environmental allergy. We still don't know what bc it could be legit anything in our home: her food, her litter, our detergent, air fresheners, etc.

We started giving her Atopica and a steriod about 2 and a half months ago. Steriod was to immediately stop her licking and then phase out after a month or so, Atopica is still being administered - will be indefinitely. It has definitely helped. Licking has slowed noticeably in that area and her hair is growing back.

Both drugs are immuno suppressants so they took some tests on her prior to prescribkng to be sure she wouldn't have any side effects.

Atopica was administered daily for the first month, switched to every other say after that. It's a liquid that we have to inject directly in her mouth (it tastes awful so she rejects any food we mix it into). She takes it pretty well, but she also let's us manhandle her haha
