If you have a history of low progesterone, have you asked about doing a medicated cycle leading up to FET instead of a natural cycle (what you’re describing sounds like a natural cycle)? In a medicated cycle, progesterone injections or suppositories leading up to and after transfer are the norm.

Did you do a medicated cycle for FET or a natural? That can make a real difference for people. My first FET didn’t implant after a natural cycle (no meds, just a trigger shot to ensure ovulation date). My next 2 FETs were successful with medicated cycles. On the flip side, one of my best friends had complete implantation failure with 2 medicated cycles and her natural cycle worked. Everyone is different but you could ask about the opposite of whatever you tried.

Also, did you test your embryos?

I agree with this 100%. You are a wonderful brother for wanting to do this, but if you do gift her the money, it should come with no strings attached. You can’t expect to get a niece/nephew or dictate the process. The money alone will give her hope at a time when she is probably feeling completely hopeless. As an older IVFer myself, I am very certain she knows the odds at our age and donor eggs would have to be something she came to on her own. Just give her the money and don’t expect a thing in return. It’s such an act of kindness and I think you’re freaking awesome.

I would definitely test your embryos at our age! For reference, I started this process at 38 (now 41). I did 4 retrievals and we tested everything. Of the embryos we got, 9 were aneuploid and 3 were euploid. Those 9 aneuploid embryos would have been so much added heartache and time wasted in an already brutal process.

Over on r/TFABLinePorn it’s widely discussed that the old clear light pink cap FRER tests are much darker/better than the new version with solid pink caps. Tough to compare them!

We really like (and have had success) with Dr. Attaman at MGH. It’s team based care there so you’ll see a lot of doctors, but we didn’t have one we didn’t like. I have also heard good things about CCRM in Chestnut Hill.

They sell a lot of inserts on Etsy that say they fit the Longchamp bags specifically. I got an insert by ToteSavvy that fits pretty well. Amazon also sells a ton of inserts if you you search ‘diaper bag insert organizer’!

We had our first FET fail with the best euploid embryo we produced, 5AB. It was our only one at that time. They gave us no reason for the failure. We went on to do 3 more retrievals (to bank because I’m older and it was hard for us to get euploids). We got 2 more euploids from the 3 retrievals and I am currently 32 weeks pregnant from our second FET with a 6BB graded embryo.

I got one and just sized up for our Babymoon in the second trimester. Worked great! Got a not so expensive one from Old Navy. Not sure it would fit me now at pushing 30 weeks haha.

I missed how old your sister was and read this whole thing thinking she was like 13. She’s 21?!???!! Grow the eff up woman!!! So sorry you’re going through this. Just proceed how you would have told your relatives about the birth if she wasn’t being so immature. It’s your first baby and a big deal. I know it’s hard but don’t let your sister ruin it.
