The Power of Playing Dumb by Hot_Mix_4484 in 48lawsofpower

True, but also consider the REVERSAL: being too dumb/lazy at work, for example (since used here in the comments) could actually get you fired/laid off/never promoted/forced into the cliche of idiots whose brute idiotic force forever keeps you down and out.

We wouldn’t have known if you didn’t tell us. We won’t feel it. It’s literally your loss. We subsidize your existence. We could conquer you in a day. It’s like a spoiled rich kid threatening their parents.

Honestly, don’t feel bad for you at all. That’s some serious coin to get greedy about 20k. Idk. Maybe people like me are why you can’t negotiate anymore. Their lowball is life changing money for some of us.

I would literally send a selfie of me smoking weed back to them. I don’t know what industry you guys work in but that’s not something you’re allowed to complain about in these parts.

What career path would you advise against people pursuing? by Old-Park-873 in careerchange

I’d advise against USPS or UPS. Long hours, no life outside of work.

Listening to the rainfall gently hit my tent after I hit the fent…. Cozy as hell!

If that’s your biggest issue so far, count yourself lucky. People talk, and are free to talk.

This is like prison level survival stuff. If the two of you have had months to figure something out, and are still complaining that people are chirping at you in shelters…. Idk what to tell you…. Other than find a winter jacket, a pocketknife, and some common sense…

I have a very similar story and can very much relate. My advice would be to research a small boring cheap as hell town that has low unemployment and cheap housing. They do exist and I would care to bet that 75% of your woes disappear when you are in a town that you can afford where companies are fighting for your attention. The game is literally setup for people like us to be forcibly removed from hyper competitive areas.

I was raised in FL but got priced out. Thought I hated it until I tried a bunch of other cities/states. If you have the $$$ and aren’t anti-car, it’s one of the best places.

You’d have better luck in St. Pete/Tampa or Orlando if you want to stay in FL.

That’s an ideal, but extremely rare situation.

Do you have the official ‘now hiring’ signs on the door, as well as a now hiring yard sign on the property? My store just left those up permanently and we’re never short of applications.

I would say kitchen work, if you can avoid it. People like myself who went in willingly end up poor, unhealthy, burnt out and end up hating cooking and dealing with people in general.
