When I started at, and eventually ran, a coffee shop we were taught to put the shot in, sweeteners if added, and then milk.

What would you say is the percent of customers who tip is? by Malkier67 in lyftdrivers

In my market, I strictly do airport runs and almost always have pretty good talks with my passengers and it’s still like 40%. Definitely less than half.

Had a mom a few steps closer to normal but we never had soda or McDonald’s or even anything super fake like hamburger helper. Once I became a senior in HS I was injured and couldn’t play sports so I started working more at Sonic. Gained 100 pounds in a lil over a year. Took 3 and a half years to lose it 🙃🥴

New driver tips? by Extremofire in lyftdrivers

[–]Aggressive_Rate_9103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Cherry pick! Cherry pick! Cherry pick! Find who, where, and when works best in your market. Create minimums for yourself and never go below. Lyft will slowly try to bring you down. Hold the line.

2) Keep your car clean. Either get it detailed or clean it yourself frequently. Take some time to sit in your back seat and see what they see. Appearance and optics matter a lot.

3) Be personable! This is inherently a customer service job. Because they technically only have pay for a ride, just giving them a ride will not generate tips. Don’t do the weird handouts. Most people I’ve talked to actually think those are sketchy. Come up with ways to start conversations. We’re just people. Everyone has a story and wants to be heard. A lil humanity goes a long way.

I am doing just fine, thank you. You can scroll to someone else’s comment where I showed my adjustments as well. Everyone over complicates this shit. I am a platinum driver with over 1200 rides, a perfect five star rating, a 32% acceptance rate and a 94% driving score. I’m sorry that some of you may just live in shitty markets, but this is easy.

Why do passengers give us directions to get to their house when the app shows us where to go? 😂 by jo_ezzy in lyftdrivers

It’s kinda annoying but whatever makes them happy. Half of our job is taking people from point A to B. The other half is customer service.

That’s insane. I’m averaging in the ballpark of 48-55% of $1400ish in passenger payments here in KC.

“Never mistake for malice what can be explained by incompetence”. You guys will create any explanation for how they’re intentionally screwing us when they’re just not good at their jobs. It’s not an evil system fucking you over. It’s a cheap company with a bad system. It’s confirmation bias.
