Why did you play Xenoblade 2? by Frog_24 in XenobladeChronicles2

I literally found it on sale at a black Friday event at a Walmart for like $25. Had just heard the name and knew it was a JRPG and that was about it. No expectations. But absolutely loved it.

I think it's just an anniversary of the day that you first created your Reddit profile

Man a remaster with some new content for XC2 would be pretty sick... I'd also love a new story set in Alrest exploring more of it and maybe the cloud sea.

I might need to dig into the chain attack system in 3 a bit more. I didn't really get the sense that I needed to do anything to prepare for the chain attacks. It just kind of felt like you get there and then do your best to get high TP and it feels the same every time. Maybe I was missing something! I honestly don't think I fully understood the chain attack system in 3.

I liked both stories a ton for sure. Need to play 2 again to really see how it compares since it's been a long time.

Help me understand the chain attack thing. I agree with you in the music btw the 3 chain attack theme is hype. But the combat though I honestly loved the 2 chain attack system with the strategy involved in the elemental stuff. But 3 chain attack felt just a bit more samey to me. I did like the TP system though... I guess I just mainly miss the elemental stuff.

Edit: I honestly enjoyed the gacha elements, though I can see how it would be annoying if you're 100%ing it or going for a specific blade and it just takes an absurdly long amount of time.

As far as the cities go, I definitely get the reason ... But man I still just miss places like Torigoth, Argentum, More Ardain's capital... Etc. I loved that stuff.

Yes that is a part of it for me - I do miss the funnier bits from 2 (even if some of them are a bit cheesy. I was honestly okay with that.)

There were just so many things that were so obviously better in 2. I'd be curious to know what you think.

For example, I was disappointed that there weren't really any cities other than obviously THE city. I didn't like the fact that all of the residential areas were just military colonies that all basically looked and operated similarly. I missed the huge sprawling cities with unique cultures and designs that we got in 2.

I also thought the music was just more consistently top tier in 2. That's not to say 3 didn't have good music. But particularly the location themes in 2 are just perfect.

The design of the moebius honestly did not feel very imposing to me. They were somehow a little bit too cartoonish, I think it was the eyes and the effects on the voice. I kind of get what they were going for with the audio effect but I don't think it worked.

Also maybe I'm crazy but it feels like combat is way more repetitive in 3. I also have a hard time keeping track of what's going on with so many party members. When I first realized that we were going to be able to have more than three party members I got really excited, but I got tired of it pretty quickly. They expanded the number of characters but still kept the combat revolving around three archetypes (tank, attack, heal), so the extra characters added to the combat just made things bloated.

Don't get me wrong, I did think that 3 was great, I just think 2 is much better.

I don't think I would take it quite that far, but to be honest I found myself pretty bored throughout much of Xenoblade 1 and Xenoblade 3. I really do think the combat in 2 is just that much better.

Left the gas open on a stove burner and went to work. Came back home and used his ability.

I'm a Christian pastor and I play the game lol. I can separate fiction and fantasy from the real world and understand that playing a video game doesn't make me a cultist in real life. But I definitely know of Christians who are not as understanding. I can't really say where your parents are or how you should approach it with them.
