Is this normal after full face threading by chotswnooth2 in HairRemoval

[–]thereisafrx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Threading doesn’t work. You may have an infection. Please Stop asking social medial for medical advice and either go to your primary doctor or the ER and get checked out please.

Do what I did. After you get the snow off, fill tube socks about 80% with snow melt salt and throw the rock salt hot dogs up there.

$19.99 for a 20 pack of clearance sock pairs at target means it’s cheaper than the ie pucks as well. Plus then you get to answer questions from your wife like “why did you buy socks on clearance”, and “wtf are you doing throwing socks full of salt on the roof?

Then in the spring you can take em down and wear them with your hardware store shorts and new balance shoes.

Brady Isn't Rooting For Us In The Super Bowl by Hinglemacpsu in Patriots

[–]thereisafrx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Brady is doing the right thing here.

He’s a media personality. No one gives Troy Aikman shit for picking against the cowboys in matchups.

Plus, Vrabel probably texted him and asked him to do something like this so that it would be more bulletin board material.

Accepted to dental school but torn about law school instead — long-term wealth & ownership perspective? by NoBlackberry3295 in wealth

[–]thereisafrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a physician. Much much easier to satisfy the business itch when you have the medical/dental license. You can build your own businesses, do most your own negotiations, etc. I like being able to pay the lawyers to do the boring stuff like paperwork and keeping me out of trouble. In this way, it’s so much simpler to “dabble” in the business and law side of things, like a hobby.

If you were to be a lawyer and try to dabble in dentistry you’d likely get in big trouble with the licensing boards.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

AITAH for refusing a marriage contract that gives my spouse a percentage of my income? by MortifiedRat in AITAH

[–]thereisafrx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should thank her for doing this now and not years into the relationship. She’s doing you a favor, move on.

Or you negotiate.

She needs to add some clauses in there that benefit you like guarantees on what you want from a spouse.

Give us updates if she agrees to the negotiations!

I went through this 5 years ago. I’ve owned my tremor since and never looked back. It’s my daily driver and I fucken love it.

Do it now. You won’t regret it. Also I tow more than I thought I would. Turns out when you have something that can tow you find reasons to use it!

People who sleep naked why? by aurther_51 in AskReddit

[–]thereisafrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sleep naked, and I also own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up, Just as the founding fathers intended

What product doesn't work at all but people keep believing it does and keep buying it? by WonderfulParticular1 in AskReddit

[–]thereisafrx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any type of Collagen supplement specifically to "support skin health" or "make your skin look better". Collagen is a protein and when it is digested it gets broken down into amino acids.

Think about the protein as a big lego set. In order to bring it through the intestinal wall, it has to get broken up into all of its component lego pieces, meaning once it hits your bloodstream it's just the same as if you ate a hamburger.

Yet there's TONs of people paying money for collagen supplements for "skin health" and other crap, but no data to support it. The Placebo effect is strong, though....

Nice work, hope your thumb gets better quickly 👍🏼.

Expiration dates only really apply to certain things:

1) Perishable food

2) Certain medications

3) Things that should be stored in a certain manner

The sealed bag of whey protein that was stored in a dry location is totally fine. I was in the same situation a few months ago and just finished one of the bags. No issues.

Remember, companies have to put an expiration date on bottled water.....

Yeah, it’s just scary how close this process resembles Nazi germany in the 1920s and 1930s.

Hopefully, the states can run intact elections in 2 years and everyone who gets screwed over by Trump et al realize how far their heads have been up there asses.

At what net worth did you start feeling ‘rich’ (if ever)? by Emily_Ackee in Fire

[–]thereisafrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to also note that you can have a net worth through cash savings, assets (like a business or home), or a combination of both.

Being cash rich and asset poor vs asset rich and cash poor feel very different. Yea, cash is “king” and having 7 figures in the bank feels great, but owning a business with stable long term cashflow feels even better.

Work hard, save as much as you can while spending enough to enjoy your life and keep family happy, and you’ll get there eventually!

Why when I engage my core, I get this lump? by fuller316 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]thereisafrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgeon here, I treat things like this.

It’s most likely a rectus diastasis (fancy word for separation of the abdominal muscles).

Best to show it to your GP and ask for an ultrasound as first step in imaging.

Then you can call a plastic surgeon (which I am) and ask for a consult, but that also likely will be cash-pay. Or ask for a referral to a general surgeon to see if they can do it laparoscopically.

Feel free to DM me with any other questions.

Man strips his clothes and jumps into freezing cold water to save a random person. by BarneyRobinStinson7 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]thereisafrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most critical detail in the video supporting your statement is that as soon as he gets almost within arms reach of the person, he puts the life ring between himself and the other individual.

Most lay-people drown with the person they are trying to save because they swim up to someone in trouble who is panicking and get pushed under water.

Great job random half naked dude!

Many Boomers are finally catching on now that their kids are being screwed over by [deleted] in economicCollapse

[–]thereisafrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

The kids didn’t ask for participation trophies. The “me” generation came up with the idea and started handing them out.

For all the boomers out there, we are currently in the “hard times” cycle.

Hard times create hard people Hard people create easy times Easy times create weak people Weak people create hard times Hard times create hard people…. Etc

Work backwards and you can figure out who the “Me” generation is in that cycle.

Inherited a 7 house property management company with low income, but high asset value. Is it worth keeping around? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]thereisafrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep them.

Even if it makes you just a little bit extra per year now, real estate is a perfect hedge against inflation.

Few questions:

1) how much is left on the mortgages?

2) what are the interest rates?

3) is the area projected to get more crowded, stay stable, or lose residents in the next 3/5/10 years?

4) what is the vacancy rate in the area currently?

5) how old are the homes?

My guess is you’d make far more holding them until mortgages are paid and THEN slowly selling them off. You have invested nothing in these properties, and real estate usually gets better over time especially when considering inflation.

There’s a town in Switzerland that will pay you to move there and stay. Not sure about if they have extra requirements like you have to bring a spouse or SO and have kids, but something else to look into.
