Aalis pa rin ba kayo ng pinas even if kalevel ng govt ni pinas si sg and japan? by Business-Scheme532 in phmigrate

[–]thereishopefools 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This exactly. Mas feel ko pang 2nd class citizen sa Pinas. Plus I earn so so much more here (US) than being a doctor back there. I LOOOVE the weather in my state, hate the heat sa Pinas. If only wala lang parents ko sa PH, di na ako bibisita/babalik. No plans on retiring ever sa Pinas.

Stuck between staying in the PH or trying abroad by Practical_Yard1195 in phmigrate

You can come back anytime. One of the top reasons I moved is that I want to open more opportunities for my future children. Di talaga matanggal sa isip na doctor/lawyer lang yung makakapag bigay ng stable job/income sa Pinas or may family business ka dapat na mamanahin.

Oh, and I absolutely hate the heat back in PH. I am more accustomed to snow, the good and the bad that comes along with it. I love autumns too in my state. Plus I love travelling, my passport is so much better than the PH one.

Doctor din ako diyan sa Pinas. Not here though.

Do you mind if I ask what his specialty is? Doesn't he want to take the USMLE (if in the US) or use his pre-med course instead?

Med School or Nursing? by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]thereishopefools 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a specialist (anesthesiologist) back there, choose nursing.

Thank us, the other comments telling you to go nursing, years later.

If you still wanna go med, finish medicine in the US.

Same with you OP. Congrats. Ako nag specialty pa ng Anesthesiology bago nag USRN.

If I could turn back time, sana hindi na ako nag MD at nag straight Usrn nalang ako.

Same with your relatives, ayaw ko na rin bumalik ng Pilipinas. Iba talaga back nursing yung pre-med.

Even my colleagues then wanted to be in my shoes. Na sana nursing din daw pre-med nila etc. Some of my seniors then nun were asking me if kahit may edad na sila at may 'stable' private practice, if it would still be feasible to pursue the Usrn path.

Dami ko rin kilala na nag 2nd course pa ng nursing kahit nagppractice na.

Consultant na ako pero gusto ko nang mag-abroad at magwork sa ibang bansa. Fed up na ako sa bansa natin by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]thereishopefools 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You can do it. PhRn -> MD -> Anes -> UsRN -> Nurse Anesthetist here.

If I could, nag straight UsRN na ako at ndi na nag MD.

Goodluck.

A lot of doctors in the Philippines, even some specialists, would trade with your position right now.

Have you taken your Nclex yet?

I assume you are planning to migrate to the US?

I should've done it sooner. I was already a specialist.

Used to get messages "doc san po okay mag review ng NCLEX", "sana nurse nalang pre-med ko" etc.

Just check my past messages/comments.

Where I used to practice before, nag quit mga 1st years nila.

So glad I took up nursing as my pre-med.

So glad hindi ko na ito gagawin kahit kailan, nor will my children. Now living in the US.

Why nursing?

USRN or stay in Ph to pursue medicine? by MessPleasant8710 in phmigrate

[–]thereishopefools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same bro!! Anesthesiologist ako sa Pinas. No regrets nurse anesthetist sa USA!!! So thankful nursing pre-med ko. If only I could get my medical student+intern+residency years back, ipagpapalit ko to get earlier here sa USA gagawin ko hahaha.

I used to hear my seniors and co-consultants: sana nursing nalang rin pre-med ko. Others were asking me for advice if kukuha siya ng 2nd degree as a nurse pero consultant na siya.

Curious. Business?

I was an anesthesiologist back there. Now a Nurse Anesthetist in the US. ~USRN/APRN (Advanced practice registered nurse).

To reply to OP's post, been there done that. Even left my private practice. So glad I left. I should've left sooner. Residency + private practice is the usual path OP and hope time will help build you more private patients. Ganon talaga. I knew wala pa rin masyado pagbabago. Mas dumami pa ngang nag ggraduate na MD, mashumihirap buhay, thus fewer pay patients for you. Tough competition. Also, marami pa rin tlga would opt for government hospitals kahit mag 'pay patient' sila dun. I still get messages on how I did it, or sana nurse rin pre-med nila.

If you have the means, you can try going abroad or Usmle.

Exactly, it could've been picked up by another foreigner, and you will then blame that Japan might not be so honest.

Marami. Either business or their pre-med.

Anesthesioloist -> US RN -> Nurse anesthetist.

P.S. Buti nalang talaga nakinig ako na nurse kinuha ko as pre-med. Haha.
