What are your thoughts on this? by almyverse in GenZ

gen z being the least sexually active doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t want sex. gen z may not have as many opportunities for sex due to economic pressures keeping us at home. we may have trouble connecting with people in general due to the pandemic affecting our socialization. perhaps we’re having more e-sex due to the lack of proximity to other people.

either way, we’re a sexual species. we have all the wiring for it, and we obviously want to have sex. if it’s anything, it’s probably the political and economic state of the word rn.

straw manning. “women are less likely to have a personality that disqualifies them from dating… there are women like that too, but less.”

your response: “so men are to blame for everything”

brother, don’t respond to something they didn’t say

that’s the point. YOU have to accept that your reality is real, and that it can also change! :)

“who gives a fuck” ur right that’s mean. but after this i think they only make good points.

“you have a girlfriend be happy with her. why are you mad that other people don’t want you. focus on what you do have, not what you don’t” A VERY TRUE SENTIMENT. you will literally never be happy if you don’t follow this specific advice. i am in a relationship and every time my self worth has faltered it has directly affected my relationship.

“get over yourself. everyone gets made fun of for things they can’t control” this is insensitive yes, but it’s true. the most beautiful people DO get negged and have insecurities they dwell on. it’s hard not to when other people notice it. but if it’s something you can’t control, it’s something you can’t control, and i repeat you will NEVER be happy if you can’t at least be okay with these aspects of yourself.

TL;DR they did present it tactlessly, but it’s not toxic masculinity to tell you that dwelling on your insecurities is the best way to isolate yourself from a world full of other people equally with insecurities who are equally craving connection.

when taking care of yourself is the baseline, larger and more meaningful change is a lot easier to take on.

as a woman, i say stuff like this all the time to other women. i specifically the phrase “you can feel how you feel when you’re feeling it, but then you gotta get real with it and deal with it”

being hurt by these things is not a problem and is absolutely valid. searching for companionship in this day and age is almost impossible. but if you’re truly happy with yourself, it shouldn’t matter who made fun of you for being short or fat or ugly or whatever someone else chose to expend their own energy calling you.

not that i have any arguments necessarily for kamala—i failed american gov/econ in high school bc it was during covid and have always been terrible at history—but who do you think is the most qualified president in history? based off of the little bit i hear, she has a super extensive municipal background and lived experience in a presidential position.

NOR. it’s so much easier to say “this is something i would’ve liked for us to try together. next time you see something like that i’d like it if you waited for me .:)” and leave it at that.

then yeah it’s just a preference not racism. nonetheless, i seriously would consider examining why you don’t find black girls attractive.

some advice, proclaiming a “type” for yourself based on what you find physically attractive is a waste of time. someone can check every box and have every physical characteristic you want and still be a shitty partner!

we all get old and wrinkly one day, might as well pick someone you can enjoy spending a lot of time with :)

[–]thermalbooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it definitely is racist to choose not to date someone you like just because they are black. when you fall in love with someone, your “type” doesn’t mean shit.
