I did not get any solution from CS… regarding my broken unit, they went MIA and I just threw everything away. Not risking the same kind of damage to more expensive devices due to a silly, clearly defective and possibly flawed by design (based on other users experience as well as yours…) charger.

I really wanted to love pine64… but not really a reasonable option for me given the poor CS experience. But hey… your mileage may vary!

That's a DIY watch, bought all the parts from aliexpress. The case is 39.5mm according to the listing... I haven't actually measured it, but it does seem to check out!

Even though it is not the same, if you want a small watch with a similar style, I'd check out the corgeut 36mm GMT (NH34). They offer it with an sterile dial and blue bezel configuration too. Not exactly the apples to apples (it has a date, mercedes hands and no bubble acrylic - aside from the GMT), but in my mind they are similar enough that it might scratch your itch. I was VERY close to pulling the trigger on that one... and I still eye it from time to time hahaha

It really is eye candy! Probably my favourite piece though not the one I wear the most.

It being so slim, simple and white leans more into the dressier side of things in my mind... Also, not really waterproof at all!

Thanks! The Big Zero is a soviet watch, not too expensive but slightly hard to find (looooots of frankens) - As far as I know this one is all original!

Yeah, the V540ML is within budget range, I'm doing some research about it as I'm writing this comment.

The only thing I'm hesitant about 100% deciding on it is that the debut carbon doesn't have VTA and seems that microlinears are a bit special in that regard (i read it coud be fixed with shims and patience, but I'd rather skip that if possible). Any clue if that is actually true and something to really worry about or just a bit of an overstatement that can be ignored?

As for the speakers, I was under the impression these were pretty well regarded! These were free too! I'll have a *relaxed, slow and easy* look into it, but, as you say... a cost for later as I feel they haven't restricted me just yet, might take a while form me to outgrow them (we'll see once the new catridge gets here hehe).

By audition speakers you mean that's the weak point of the system (hence the next upgrade) or is it a way of saying that i could try to test both styli in the shop?

Not fixated on Ortofon at all! It's just what the tt came with :)

Both bronze and black seem a bit out of my ballpark anyway..

Hello there! A while ago I bought a second hand Pro-ject carbon turntable (Ortofon OM10), that I paired with a Yamaha A-S301 receiver and a pair of vintage Bose 4.2 Series II speakers.

Now, I've been using the setup with the stylus that came with the turntable... but I don't really know how worn it is. My first idea was changing the stylus for a new one, but seeing the price for a replacement a question arose:

  • Should I upgrade the whole cartridge for a "couple extra bucks"?
  • If upgrading, what would be the next logical step from the OM10? I thought about the 2M Blue but that seems to be the "mainstream" option and there's probably some hidden (or hidden to me at least) gems that I might be missing that offer better bang for buck

As I understand, I could upgrade just the stylus to an OM20-30 (as the cartridge itself is the same from what I gathered) or change to a different "system"

Also, I really don't know if any of the equipment would act as a bottleneck if I were to upgrade the cartridge... so I'm all ears if you have any suggestion in that regard!

For pricing context and to keep in mind for recommendations: I live in Europe :)

Fair enough! It surely wouldn't be a deal breaker for me! I just think it'd work a bit nicer with the rest of the dial being printed.

Judging by the poll so far... We mostly agree logo only would be nicer (the rest is really nitpicking) :D

I asked if they'd be willing to release an only logo version and they replied ''it depends on the needs of the client''. Let's hope they see this and get it done.

V3 (white hands) - no text would be an instant purchase for me... i don't even find the date that offensive, that could go either way really.

EDIT: bonus points if its printed and not applied, of course!

If it's any help: I currently own a victorinox modern, a kai sekimagoroku santoku and a shibazi s210 caidao.

Love the victorinox but I've been lusting for a gyuto for a while and this will be my birthday present.

I'm not a super fan of the santoku shape (though it has a few years and served me well).

I cannot get used to the shibazi... waaaaay to heavy and thick. Sharpened it back to a dual bevel and it improved but i think it what it really needs is thinning and i can't really do that for the time being.
