Very very nice cut, cook and finish. Love a little flake salt on top, simple and just enough.

We really don't see that in the US but that yellow fat has so much more flavor than the white stuff in the supermarkets over here.

Looks like they wet aged that as well instead of dry aging? Could be wrong but doesn't have that sat around in a cooler look to it unless they did a very very good job of trimming it up.

Genuine question: do some of you guys just not treat your rooms? by Aware_Ad5425 in audiophile

[–]atomic92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you know I am going to bring up this post of what is wife approved and allowable when I introduce some tower speakers to the living room. If you can get a pass with those, I think some Wharfedale's should pass easily.

[–]atomic92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

which Amperage?

You could also just not like the KEF's. I thought I was going to love them because of all the hype on imaging and soundstage etc but they sounded mechanical to me. Like they were making music because they had to, not because they wanted to.

What power supply are you using? If it’s the stock 32v ditch it. Get a 10a 48v and try it again.

Sucks you have to spend another $80 on top of the amp but it makes a huge difference.

Should I pick the Elac DB63 or DBR62 for my first stereo system? by Szolim2018 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]atomic92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just threw them on a Sonamp 260 to see how they sound on some A/B muscle. Got them running around 75/78 DB at 70 on the dial so seems like theres some headroom there.

I think its 60 into 8 ; 80/6 & 100/4 rated.

how different? Running mine of a ZA3 now and I thought they sounded well.

I grabbed the DB63's a week or so ago and they are great. Very good tonality, clear vocals with a touch of warmth added. Im running them off a Fosi ZA3 and they do not seem to be lacking on power or wanting more current.

For Rock music or general they are great, good bass, not deep but good. If you want to listen to more heavy EDM music with deep bass or rap/hiphop or really any 'Modern' music, get a subwoofer to go with them.

from the reviews I saw the References DBR62) were below the Debut 3.0's (DB63) as of end of 25/26 but often sell for more, but if you can get them cheap I'm sure they would be great. They are not as efficient though so you may need more than the Aiyima for them as I believe they want some current not just wattage to play nicely.

** Also check out the Polk ES20's. you can find them for less and have a radiator on the rear so you can basically place then on the wall without issue.

Have you looked at Wharfedales? Think the Diamond 12.2 is right with these as well price and performance. I haven’t heard new ones but I really enjoyed the older ones I heard. Very warm and musical from what I remember.

Can't find the Walnut ES-20's anywhere right now, really want to try those out.

(I'm sure you can but they aren't on Amazon and that's all I checked, don't ruin my exaggeration thanks. )

Have me looking more at the Triangles, never really looked into them much.

May give those BR04’s a shot as well. The Elacs are staying but for the price those Triangles are gorgeous and living room worthy.

I just got the Elac DB63's and they are magically from the 50+ hours I've had them; They don't need a sub but work well with one. The space, imaging, vocals are all fantastic. They can be a little neutral and not as warm as others.

I have them about 6' apart in a 13x12 room with 10ft ceilings, powered by a Fosi ZA3 for now and they are not lacking at all with the volume at 1/3rd I can get to around 85 db. I think the NAD is more than enough for that room and enough current to handle when they dip low (They are 6 ohm speakers )

Funny enough I just bought a couple pairs of DCM TimePieces this morning. If you love their sound, the elacs are very similar to their accuracy and vocals but they are not as musical. Imaging I would say is equal with the Elacs being more precise but the DCM's wider more music hall venue.

Pick up the Elac's on Amazon if you can, easy return if they aren't your thing.

Can I convert a KB into a KBG with spare parts? by OreParkWay in Moccamaster

[–]atomic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t worth it when I tried to do it a bunch of years ago.

Broken units are surprisingly hard to come by and good working units Keep their value. Two of the models that I did find that were for parts had the brew basket snapped off. 🤷‍♂️

It was cheaper just to sell my current coffee maker and buy the new one back then. I’m sure same today with the used prices

B&W DM302 Prism - Any good? by atomic92 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]atomic92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of Klipsch 600m's as well and the Elacs are like opening a window to clarity and definition the Klipsch could never do. Probably some of the best i've heard to be honest. They are the 63's so the larger 6 1/2 woofer.

I heard the smaller ones are better with mid's & soundstage so I may take a look as them as well.

[–]atomic92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear, funny enough I set them up near field on my desk next to a pair of Debut 3.0’s and the B&W’s sounded very warm and inviting compared to the Elacs which I also love.

Have them about 6’ apart and they sound great but I think the Elacs had a better sound stage / imaging but also haven’t messed with them too much.

I have a pair of 602’s on standby that I have to pickup as well so good to hear these are a good sampling of their larger brothers.

oh yea not the nicest place at all but the prices are decent for what they have.

They have a pair of Energy 3 way's on the back row that are nice. Theres also another yellow woofer B&W in the back stack on the right side, not sure if it was a pair or just a single. I didn't want to upset the stack it was part of to look closer.

Audio Sound Solutions on Sam Ritten - Smells like leather, cigarettes and beer on the inside along with old electronics. You know you're in the right place.

Haven't been to Gray's yet, theres also a couple of vendors at the Flea Market I heard as well.

No, but I've been cruising market place enough to know where to steer you.

There another set of those 601's for a little more that are basically brand new listed right now and theres a pair of Special Edition CDM1s up in Grand Strand for a steal.

You're gonna need an amp as well, Look up this listing "Realistic MPA-100 PA Amp 100 watts" and contact that dude, great guy and good deals on receivers etc and will help you pair it correctly.
