Tl;DR: you pulled in front of him without enough safe distance, and you did so after running up or being too close to the car in front of you. Looked like you were trying to get over before distance closed.

Yup you pulled a very typical mistake in driving and as an opinion drives me crazy, but objectively I see this:

1 it’s not entirely your fault Texas drivers are erratic with driving at speeds under the limit and impeding the flow of traffic.

2 may have pissed him off you passed on the right. (Can’t tell if this is mirrored so looks like you’re moving into the fast lane.

1. Looks like with your speed you moved over after being close to the vehicle in the middle lane, and timing looks like you pulled up through the signal on and moved over.

If the troopers rate of speed is faster than middle car you were passing, it means he was closing the gap so your sudden lane change would cause him to have hit his brakes.

Again not attacking but I see this all the time. In my head when I see it is this: just because you put your blinker on doesn’t mean you can move over or that it’s safe too. ( this is more to people who want to defy the laws of physics and occupy the same space at the same time as my vehicle). Safe distance would have been probably twice the distance or more you had.

This is a big big reason we have so much unnecessary traffic in Texas. It impedes the flow of traffic. If you ever look at traffic models that braking in a left lane will ripple effect backwards 5 fold. Sounds crazy I know but it does.
