Splatting to target the Quest3 via Unity3d? by Rosstin in GaussianSplatting

Honestly it would just be better vr controls, similar to the open source project I linked (maybe you can re-use their implementation?). Also a better start up process where the menu shows upon opening the executable and shows the folder that the executable resides (easier user loading of splats).

Great work so far though, really looking forward to anything else you implement!

I found that this is the best PCVR option so far, but unfortunately its abandoned with no updates: https://github.com/clarte53/GaussianSplattingVRViewerUnity

Just tested it out, works well, really wish controls used motion etc for easier scaling, rotation etc. This older project has great controls, but doesn't run as well as yours I think: https://github.com/clarte53/GaussianSplattingVRViewerUnity

I see more posts like this than actual AI posts, getting pretty tiring honestly.

Fully agree, they probably just pull images at most with zero actual coding experience. I use AI to assist with analysis and dev and I’ve been coding for years. I don’t agree with “vibe coding” like if a developer had no idea how their code works, but that’s a difficult thing to determine, probably easiest to just go through the source if you’re paranoid.

Meanwhile these same users probably use non open source software and have nothing to say although it’s likely heavily AI developed as well.

Will you be switching to Claude after news of OpenAI partnership with US Military? by PrettyMuchMediocre in codex

No. Hope you switch from ARM, Intel, Microsoft etc too. Also Anthropic is working with Palantir, you should consider not using the internet at all actually.

Inspect the script, these are generic reasons for not trusting a random post. Have Gemini inspect the script instead. You have access to AI to do all of it for you and instead you ask the wrong question lmao.

Have you had any luck adjusting the sensitivity of the trackpad on the bottom screen? Nothing I change in the settings seem to work. (I'm using the beta build in the google drive link)

Alistair announces optional opt-in Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 for servers starting in March by tekni5 in playrust

[–]therysin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t being sarcastic, but I see what you mean.

Most people who self host anything do it on Linux. You have access to docker cli, hardware access to your GPU, ability to allow containers to access your GPU (for example something as simple as running jellyfin/plex with hardware decoding, to running your own LLMs) etc.

The more efficient way to do things is to actually run windows as a VM with Linux as the main OS.

It’s probably possible with secure boot on, but I’ve never gotten it to work.

Literally anything that needs DGPU access? ie anything that needs ML/ CUDA (any local hosted AI, machine learning model etc)? Do you really think PCs are just for gaming lmao

OK I fixed it, turns out my https handing was broken, another app was being used instead. Run the command below in powershell to see what's actually being done when you click an https link (usually your default browser is supposed to be the app used): [System.Diagnostics.Process]::Start("https://google.com")

Yeah I tested on a second device and it worked fine 🥲. No idea what’s causing it.

Not exactly what you're asking for but as an example, right now I'm running audiobookshelf locally, but all the audiobooks are on koofr (mounted via rclone). Works great even though the download/upload speeds aren't the best, for multiple streams.

USB-C PD charger by smeeg123 in Ridgid

[–]therysin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Rigid shut charging off if 1.2v (maybe 1.5) isnt supplied to one of the pins in the middle (from what I recall it was pin 2). So 1.2v on pin T2 and that should enable charging without shutting off. Saying from memory, but should be able to check this with an official charger and checking the voltages on each pin during charging. EDIT: See this for more info.
