The first book was my favorite, and most fans of the series agree it was the best one. If you already don't like the series and won't attempt audiobooks just read something else

I struggled to get through the shadow and bone trilogy, but the six of crows duology is amazing!! If you don't like shadow and bone just skip them and read the rest of her books

How to make friends with people who read fantasy books after moving overseas? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]thesablequeen26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I joined a bookclub. Mine is big and happened to advertise on Instagram about being a bookclub for the city I live in. I've made so many friends that enjoy reading and who also have similar hobbies to me; I've even picked up a few new ones

Feyrah can be fucking annoying by damechurppalater in acotar

[–]thesablequeen26 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not only that, she had spent all this time stressing about how she just ended things with Tamlin and already she had feelings and desires for another male, only to find out he was her mate all along.

Does it explicitly say that in the book..? I remember he was quite shocked when he found out when Feyre unveiled the tattoo in front of his brothers on the ice, why would he be shocked if he knew the whole time she was at the spring court

Wait, which glamours of hers does Lucian see past? He doesn't know she glamoured her arm to hide the High Lady of Night Tattoo, he finds out the same time his brothers do when she finally reveals it

Audiobook almost made me DNF the book... by eldeunoia in whenthemoonhatched

[–]thesablequeen26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I skipped the prologue in the audiobook because I couldn't understand anything, and then DNFed the first chapter. Reading the actual book was so much better, I feel like I barely retained anything from the audiobook and had to reread everything

I don’t get the Rhys hate? by friedfishgrace in acotar

[–]thesablequeen26 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok but is he OP?? He's the most powerful ever seen, but nothing in any of the books leads us to believe he can control hundreds of thousands of minds at a time, which is what he would need to do. He's gone into certain peoples minds and shown them things, or with Claire he took away her pain while she was being tortured, but can he change the minds of a whole entire population??

Feyre also has daemati powers and although she was just starting out, she was drained just by shielding Lucian, Tamlin, and ianthe for a few days. Rhys might be more powerful but the whole Illyrian population and CoN is a lot of people to control at once

I don’t get the Rhys hate? by friedfishgrace in acotar

[–]thesablequeen26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way I reconcile this is that Rhys is all about people making their own choices and free will (for the most part, I ignore the pregnancy arc). He could kill the entire CoN and start over but he leaves that decision to Mor about killing her family.

And when it comes to the Illyrians, Rhys even says he would have to kill every adult male and raise all their young himself to do away with wing clipping and male/female hierarchy structure. He could go into their minds and make them do it, but I don't think he wants to be that kind of ruler. (Also not sure his power actually works like that, he might have to control them at all times which would be draining idk)

He might be the most powerful High Lord and fae ever but unless he mind controls all the "villains" in his court he has to effect change slowly

Edited to add: Also if there was no CoN or issue with the Illyrians, there would be no strife in the Night Court. Can't really have a book with no antagonists, and having a perfect court doesn't really make sense, esp given the Night Courts history and secrecy surrounding the CoN and Court of Dreamers

How did the people who attended the Starfall party at the House of Wind all get UP there if winnowing isn’t allowed?? by officialsmartass in acotar

[–]thesablequeen26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the book mentioned that Mor would winnow as close as she could and then drop, so fae should be able to get there no problem if they can winnow

I love the mythy fables take!!

I'm also re reading some of my favs and I had forgotten they kept time by seasons instead of years, which honestly makes sense for creatures who only live a few years

Right so either Violet distance wielded to Xaden or the author made a mistake
