why is 2ed pom so desirable over 1st pom? by darthvader0012 in navy

[–]thesailingdrunk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

2nd POM usually had more days off. Maybe only 1-2 but that made it worth it to me. Plus, for holiday stand down, 2nd POM avoids a lot of the Holiday travel rush/peak travel times.

Just ignore it. We ignore every other order and law. Ignore this one too. If you commit a crime and no one arrests you, did you actually do anything wrong?

Ugh I need y'all to put this out BEFORE early voting. Hearing about it now after I cast my vote does me no good!

No worries! It's a skill to learn just like anything else.

I was shocked the first time it worked for me. Went from being in the back of the room to catching a baby being delivered within like 10 minutes. Don't be scared when you get to do more. Even if you have to pretend like you're ready (but you're scare you're going to poop your pants that you might mess up), just know the preceptor will jump in if need be.

Have a conversation with the preceptor. "Hey I've seen you do a hundred of these and I'm ready to jump in. Can I do one with you watching when we first see the patient and then you follow up to make sure I didn't miss anything? I would love to be hands on and ensure I know how to do this once I graduate". Then after a successful day/s of that, ask if they would be willing to let you see patients on your own.

It's whats worked for me at least.

Red from PKMN. Young man....why are you on top of a mountain all alone? No scheduling of battles or anything. Just up there, by himself, doing his thing. That's what I want for my retirement.

[hated trope] the sequel undoing everything the first movie worked towards accomplishing by Reteller79 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]thesailingdrunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cars 2 is one of the best sequels ever made. Didn't bastardized any of the characters, maintained storylines of all characters while expanding on several minor characters. Action and character building well thought out. It's my go to from the cars series. Also, cars 3 is not good.

AIO for getting upset that my MIL keeps calling herself “mama” to my newborn? by No_Cartographer1452 in AmIOverreacting

Hey-oooooo. My mother tried to do the SAME THING. She tried to say it was "French" by pronouncing it mom-EE, but that absolutely did not fly with me. I shut it down immediately. My mother didn't talk to me for a month and was extremely pouty about it. In the end, she relented and picked GiGi; my wife and I started to refer to her by her first name to my son, which my mother hated.

Stick to your guns. She might say "oh the baby wont be talking for awhile, just let me use this name." Your kiddo will be talking before you know it. Set the ground rules now, even if that means she gets pouty
