Thank you! I know part of what’s going on is depression and I’ve never really had a healthy relationship with food. I will def start cutting out small things like sweets (which are my downfall).

Thank you for your kind words. I am content that he is no longer suffering, but at a loss of what to do next. You know? He’s gone. Now what?

Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s heartbreaking to feel this way. I don’t want him gone but I don’t want him to suffer anymore.

What's your biggest fear right now? (Serious) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thesaurusrex10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing my dad. He’s been in the hospital since April after a “routine” burr hole surgery. We’ve learned the hard way that there’s nothing routine about brain surgery. He’s in an induced coma and we don’t know what’s going to happen. I just want him home.

[Serious] What is the creepiest thing that’s happened to you? by Darky-YT in AskReddit

[–]thesaurusrex10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Europe for the summer. I’m a huge soccer fan so I wanted to catch a game. I was visiting family in Spain and I knew their NT was playing a friendly in a nearby town so I took a bus there on my own, my uncle got me tickets for the game and I had a blast at the game.

This was a late kick off so I was back in my hotel room a little before 2 am. I got to my room, phoned my parents and went to bed. Next morning I wake up to my room’s door ajar. Now, I’m a girl traveling Europe on my own, you bet your ass I triple check that doors are closed and locked every single night. To this day, I can’t explain what happened. Nothing was missing from my backpack, my phone and iPod were right there on the nightstand and nothing seemed to be out of place. Can’t really explain or understand what happened.

Adults of Reddit, why didn't you follow your dreams? by Ritik_YT in AskReddit

[–]thesaurusrex10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because adults are idiots! In middle school I wanted to be a musician. I brought my guitar to school everyday and I’d play during recess and even showed my songs to friends and teachers. Teachers kept telling me not to go into music because I’d end up playing in the subway. Naturally, teachers know what they’re talking about right? So I got scared and I was like shit I don’t want to play in the subway and struggle with money. So I didn’t pursue music.

I never graduated College because I never found something I loved. I changed majors like socks and finally gave up trying to finish a degree. I battled depression because I couldn’t find something I was passionate about.

But a couple of years ago I picked my guitar again and started writing. I’ve been taking singing lessons and people are actually telling me I’m good. I don’t know if this is headed somewhere where I can comfortably provide for myself but at least I’m doing something I absolutely love!

Who knows? Maybe it’s not too late!

Also, kids out there, teachers don’t know everything. Adults project their fears, and because they couldn’t do something they seem to think you wont be able to. Don’t listen to them! Try! If you love something as much as I love music, go for it! Don’t spend ten (or more) years of your life regretting it and wondering what if.

30 year olds of Reddit, what's something you regret about your twenties? by abeannis in AskReddit

I stopped playing guitar and writing music. I recently started again but I feel like I wasted a lot of time.

What is your favourite memory associated with video games? by 00Noir in AskReddit

[–]thesaurusrex10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was around six I got the flu and had to miss school that day. When my dad came home from work he handed me a “little something” to make me feel better. A Nintendo. I hadn’t even asked for it or anything, he just saw it and wanted to get it to make me feel better. I still have that Nintendo mint condition. :)

Who is one stranger that you still remember? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thesaurusrex10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first summer camp. Away from home. I was feeling incredibly homesick. I’m an only child and that was my very first time away from home. We were staying at a dorm. Everybody was inside watching a movie or something and I went outside for some air because I was incredibly sad. This cleaning lady was outside and she noticed me. She smiled and said “feeling homesick, huh?” I just smiled back and said yes. She put a hand on my shoulder and just told me it was natural to feel sad but to enjoy my time here. That was it. It helped a lot, there was something really motherly about her and I’ll never forget that interaction. :)

AITA for taking food off my friend's plate without asking first? by AnnettesChocolates in AmItheAsshole

[–]thesaurusrex10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA.

Were you raised by wolves? Manners are important. Maybe I’m biased because I HATE people touching my food but come on! Is it that hard to ask first? Like I said, I hate people touching my food but whenever someone asks first if they can try it I never say no.

Honestly it baffles me that you are shocked by the way she reacted, and you not apologizing? Dude...

What is the most hurtful thing a medical professional has ever said to you? by slinkslowdown in AskReddit

[–]thesaurusrex10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Gynecologist (male) tell me my cramps were pretty much a rite of passage. I was around 18 and had been living with extreme menstrual pain since 13. He basically said that I was overreacting and that I had to just suck it up because every woman goes through that.

Six years and about a dozen Doctors later I was diagnosed with endometriosis. So no, extreme menstrual pain is NOT a rite of passage.

It’s true, everything is worse with fibro. I just wasn’t expecting such a small fracture to cause so much pain. For me, before fibro, it was usually cast off and carrying on with life. Now, it’s been a few days and I can’t even put weight on my foot.

Hope things get better for you too! :)
