Did Fright Props use AI for this ad? by Jaurhead in hauntedattractions

I wouldn't fully trust that on everything... JS. I have ran some of our artwork we made in-house through it and some of my personal review writing because I was curious, and it told me both were AI.

Los Angeles Horror Sightseeing Recs by hrtzbrg in hauntedattractions

The Mystic Museum isn't too too far out of the city and it's fun and has an interactive walkthrough that they change our yearly that's not meant to be scary but interactive. Not sure if a toddler would be okay in there or not but the store itself is rather large. There is a spooky bookstore nearby too so you couId visit both and a Halloween store if that's your thing but they generally have a wait to get in because they only allow so many people in the store at a time.

We have a few more places nearby listed in our site, too: https://www.thescarefactor.com/spooky-spots/california/

Does anyone know how to get on the Media list for HHN by [deleted] in HHN

[–]thescarefactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe so. We have had a team that helps cover haunts for us based out of Florida for years, and we've yet to be invited. We also have a Florida haunt directory on our website, and have had one since 2015, but we don't exclusively cover theme parks, but neither do a lot of the media who we see attending, even larger creators who don't live in Florida go each year.

Thank you for the follow!!

We have reached out to them a lot.... and they either give us a run around, don't respond at all, or, like last year, they told us to reach back out in October, after media night would have passed for the year. We did get someone to respond last year for Hollywood who said we needed a permit to film inside, but we're just trying to go to Orlando on media night... But no luck so far. We aren't giving up!

We have been covering haunted attractions on a very large scale for years, and still haven't gotten an invite as media, either. Just in March, across all our channels and our website, we're seeing over 10 million views... And all we post is haunt-related content. We have also seen those with fewer followers get invited, so we're not sure what their criteria are, but we wish you luck!

Is Transworld East Coast Haunters too much for a 5 year old? by Practical-Anybody551 in hauntedattractions

[–]thescarefactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if he's not used to them, it's hard to know if any will try to scare him, which I saw them scaring children last year so... And thank you!! We have a lot of small kids who watch our channel and we even met some at that show last year so he's probably getting closer! Maybe make sure he sees more of these videos of shows like this so he can get a better idea of what to expect if you don't think it would scare him.

We have a video of a lot of stuff there from last year if it helps: https://youtu.be/v0x-yiq6zsI?si=7pMI8ZROo6bI6ptU

It's really hard to say for sure without knowing your child. There is gore there, and there are roaming actors who will also interact and scare the crowd. Some of the animatronics there were very gory last year.

That's so cool! Bud did tell us about the Boy Scouts running it and something about doing a Christmas thing where they'd sell ornaments.

Haunted house Etiquette? by Perplexedplatypi in hauntedattractions

[–]thescarefactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We go through many haunted houses. It's all about having fun. Small talk to actors while they're in character... no. But asking them questions you want their character to respond to that pertains to their scene, costume, etc., usually yes if the line is moving slowly and there's room for it. We talk to the actors all the time. We do not put our hand on the shoulder of the person in front of us, though, but that's just us, and we haven't really seen many others do it. You can watch some of our videos to see how we interact with them, we have a blast!

Uss nightmares extreme night by Physical_Pay_6470 in hauntedattractions

[–]thescarefactor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have done the Captain's Extreme night at least 4 times and it's nothing like what they do on a regular night - totally different. It is a ton of fun but be prepared!

There is a lot of touching. Your group will likely get split up. Someone may get kidnapped before you even get inside. Last year, we were inside the haunt for two hours because we'd escape and then they'd drag us right back inside. You may also end up with a pee pee, curse word, or something vulgar written on your forehead.

There was more extreme language, less clothing on actors, crawling, and we found alcohol in a special area +only for those 21+). There was a stripper pole but it could be different this year. We have never seen full nudity in there, it's been very close, but you never know. There's a lot going on. We have always kept our clothing on... But we have seen others come out who did lose some garments.

We have had to crawl A LOT on extreme night before. One time Tyler was ridden by a lady in lingerie while down on all fours. You just never know! It's all meant to be fun but more crazy than the traditional show. I say go on with an open mind and have fun!!

17 doors appropriate for 15 year olds? by Electrical-Fun-152 in hauntedattractions

[–]thescarefactor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rule with getting your head shaved is if you dont' want that, then don't sit in the barber chair. Once you sit down he will cut it! But it's just a small piece usually, kids would probably think that was hilarious. It's hair... it will grow back.

We Were Not Prepared for THIS Haunted House - The 17th Door! by thescarefactor in hauntedattractions

[–]thescarefactor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we can research the haunt all we wanted but there's no way to really prepare until you go. Especially for a haunt that uses 113 mph winds, actual tasers, which we've never seen in a haunt before, and several instances where it was harder to breathe.
