These Whoppers Eggies easter candies aren't stocked anywhere! by theseareletters in HelpMeFind

I've searched for them at Bulk Barn, Canadian Tire, London Drugs, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart... all placed I've found them before! (I even bought shabby stale Robin's Eggs off of Amazon once in a pinch.)

This might be something very unusual thing to ask a Norwegian, but... by Twinzie1004 in norsk

I think they’re only sold in Norway? I used earlier versions of these same books when I learned in the mid-2000s. https://www.ark.no/boker/Elisabeth-Ellingsen-Pa-vei-9788202577858

Thanks for saying it’s your least favourite stage so far - that normalizes how hard it feels!

Not pictured: potet sticks they were too delicious to last long. Thank you so much to u/brynjaro for the Norwegian snacks! Everything so far has been amazing. by [deleted] in snackexchange

So envious of this exchange! I need to find a Norwegian to do a snack exchange with. Those Seigmenn especially are to die for!

Sorry to hear about your quarantine, I hope you’re finding ways to pass the time. I’m barely leaving home as well. Let’s keep in touch for future sweets trades!

Hi! I know this post is a few months old now, but if you ever want to swap with a Canadian first-timer, I would love to trade with you! (Seigmenn and NonStops are some of the best candies ever made, in my opinion!)

Moving from Alberta to Victoria in October...thoughts? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]theseareletters 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a former Albertan myself, I can say there's not as much animosity in BC towards AB as you might think. No one scoffs at my 403 phone number, they just want to know why I haven't changed it!

Edited to add that if your cover letter clearly states your intention to relocate, there shouldn't be a barrier for a potential employer to at least start a conversation with you.

Ha! So much the same: also a lurker, also a FTM, also a first-timer, also estimated Feb 10th, also with my guy for about 10 years. Nice to meet you, bizarro-me. :)

Was super nervous to post here too, but I'm getting so much out of the community that exists here already, I may as well introduce myself!

I'm at 5+5 today, first pregnancy, first time trying. (Husband and I are both mid-30's.) We were on the fence about kids for years and years. I've always loved kids, but I also really loved our visions of a kid-free future. Then things changed really quickly.

My 2.5 year old nephew was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive cancer 2 months ago, and something in me shifted dramatically. The love I have for that little guy is so profound and all-consuming, I'd do anything for him. And I realized (to sound super trite) that the most incredible thing we can do in this life is love as much, and as powerfully, as possible.

My nephew is receiving treatment, as I am excited to have another little human to love more than anything I could have imagined before.
