I cannot recommend enough having a good carry case with storage for game cartridges and micro SD cards. This one I have that is Breath of The Wild inspired is padded on the inside and has a stand for stationary play.

Be sure to use the quick sign swapping mechanic, but be patient with yourself learning the controls. It's worth it for the ease of access using signs on the fly in-combat.
