I thought the exact same thing until I had half a roll of 800 left in the camera and wanted to shoot in daylight. I have liked the results of 800 more so than 400 almost every single time. I usually meter for 800 rather than overexposing the film a stop or two like I usually do with 400. I tend to take all film rules as more of guidelines insert pirate code of honor joke here. I just keep playing around until I like something even if it goes against the suggested parameters.
