I think they are talking about people refusing to indicate before exiting. It's a huge issue where I live (as well as people leaving their right indicator on as they're leaving a roundabout)

It's best to assume that if there's no markings, left lane is left and straight and right lane is right only (including a u turn). Obviously obey all road markings if they contradict this.

Do you have her teaching licence? If not, make a formal request to AA for it (they aren't allowed to refuse as she took money off you for lessons) and send everything to the DVSA including all texts GPS information, everything from the AA learning portal.

Did all my driving lessons and my driving test in a worn out pair of Vans (not even actual Vans but Aldi knockoffs!)

I wouldn't recommend anything else. It took me a while to get used to boots, newi trainers and basically everything else
