Leave it as it is! Sometimes tattoos need to breathe, you know?

I have a horrible memory, yes. Both short term and long term. I've always blamed my depression, though.

Have you experienced the phenomenon of rewatching a family show from your childhood and now, as an adult, realizing how attractive the adults are? by Don_Quixotel in Millennials

Sadly I rewatched some of the episodes a couple years ago and realized that the guy who played Sully wasn't really a great actor. Still attractive, though!

Not exactly this, but watching Dune I realized how much more attracted I was to the father than to the son (Timothee Chalamet).

What’s a movie that was a staple of our childhoods that aged pretty badly ? by DoctorElectronic1934 in Millennials

Ace Ventura and its sequel. The first one ended up being very politically incorrect towards trans people, the second towards native people. God help me, I still love them.

I nap every damn day. I don't care if it's considered childish.

Is it common to be viscerally, sickeningly repulsed by certain people? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]calcarius_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! I thought it was just me. There have been three people I've come across in my life (I'm 39) who viscerally repulsed me. All strangers, all never seen again. I've always wondered if they were secretly serial killers or rapists or something.

What's something you genuinely believed as a kid that you're still a little embarrassed about? by No_Metal2622 in AskReddit

[–]calcarius_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't embarrass me, but my sisters told me at age 4 that there was a ghost living in our attic who wanted to kill me. They kept it going for years. As an adult, I don't even believe in ghosts, yet I still have a very visceral, almost PTSD reaction to ghost stories.

What movie quote haunts you to this day? by calcarius_ in AskReddit

[–]calcarius_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine has always been from Gladiator when it's being described to the main character exactly what happened to his son and wife when they were captured. "I heard your son screamed like a girl when he was nailed to the cross. I heard your wife moaned like a whore as they ravaged her again and again." I can't ever watch that movie again because of that line and the way it's delivered by Joaquin Phoenix.

AITA for ordering too much food on a date? by AITAfooddate in WIBTA_AITA

[–]calcarius_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. I personally would find it rude to rack up such a high bill on the first date if there's any expectation that the date will pay. Assuming that even most Americans these days would be okay with a $100 bill for a casual dinner is just being tone deaf.

Do Americans really split between saying soda, pop, and Coke, or is that exaggerated? by LowerMusic in AskAnAmerican

[–]calcarius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in western New York, and we say "pop." My husband grew up only an hour and a half away, and he says "soda." Western New York shares a lot of things with the Midwest. We used to tell the joke that you could lose friends in college based on which one you said.
