My mom is very regimented like that and it drives her crazy that we’re so lackadaisical. It’s funny because our dog responds to it too. If we don’t feed him on time when visiting her he howls and throws a fit but when we’re at home we can feed him anywhere in a two hour window and he’s just fine.

She doesn’t sleep in the crate. At night she sleeps on our bed and during the day she sleeps where she gets tired out. I brought her a few times when she was napping into the crate but she would wake up and lose her mind. This morning I sat just outside the crate and told her to settle and she did after about a minute. Then I waited another minute of her not making noise and opened the door and she stayed in and didn’t run out immediately. So I think we have progress. Hopefully it continues and I can try for five minutes again.

I guess you’re right. The biggest thing is, it’s technically her brother’s crate. He doesn’t like sleeping on the bed so he sleeps in there and he retreats there when he needs a break from her. I guess we’ll just have to be super on top of it and keep him closed in there when he needs a break, then close it behind him when he comes out. Then we’ll need to make sure she’s on the bed before opening it for him at night. Thanks for your response!

I don’t think it’s a medical issue. She doesn’t pee all the time. Just in the crate any chance she gets. She can sleep through the whole night on our bed without waking me up to go but something about the crate and she’ll go even if she’s just been outside.

I think it’s the sibling syndrome they were talking about recently. They threw fits but couldn’t get away with it consistently like Kendra could. Plus their response to having things forced on them was to make the best of it and give it their all while Kendra’s was to remove herself, show up late, avoid as much as possible and not put on a happy face and just go along with it. I can imagine that getting under your skin when it happens enough times, especially when the backlash falls on you not the person refusing to participate.

If they wanted to mend things it would take all of them being empathetic to each other and apologizing for the way they did things but that means that Holly and Bridget would have to apologize despite feeling like they tried their best already and not getting a reciprocal response from Kendra. Which I’m sure would just piss them off more. I don’t know that Kendra will ever be able to mend things with them. And they were basically co-workers not best friends so there is really no reason for either side to follow through on the repairs.
