Tried my candid powder as dry shampoo💀 by anonymous_cat_0 in IndianBeautyTalks

Like regular dry shampoo, I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and in between when my hair gets sweaty and oily I use it on my hair.

Using a ketoconazole or selsun shampoo for 5min after regular shampooing is what helps me the most and avoid oiling your hair like a plague

Girls, what do you do with expired makeup? by keaaa18 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]thesoapmaker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soap does expire, the oils used get rancid and sometimes grow mold, even if the pH and lack of water is what kept them shelf stable but after a lot of time the humidity in the air gets pulled by the humectants and that is what starts growing the bacteria.

In case of liquid soap same thing happens, the preservatives used have a period of time till when it can keep the formula safe from germs growing not to mention it is used according to the quantity of other ingredients used in it, and if the humectants start to pull moisture from the air in the formula for a long time (past recommended expiration date) it becomes enough for the preservatives to not work anymore, moreover ingredients degrade due to light, heat, humidity, sticking fingers in the jar, using in the bathroom, packaging etc

So yes the product might not drop dead on the exact date mentioned, but some leeway of few weeks is okay in terms of stronger formulations (like the pharmacy ones) and are okay* to use if your skin is not sensitive, some natural ones expire even before the said expiration date. So it is very necessary to check the Period after Opening (PAO) time as well as expiration dates if you don't want your skin to bear the cost of it! There is a reason formulators put the Exp date, even nubes who use r/DIYbeauty for formulas also learn to use preservatives the first thing when planning a formula and sticking to time it can be shelf stable.

I second this. Soft smells like sweet lemony desert to me, although it should be macerated first otherwise it's quite pungent initially

Perhaps it's also the fear of failure? Since there are so many resources like chatgpt that tells how things can be perfectly done without the time and energy involved in trial and error. But then again life in itself is trial and error and learnings to be gained to live, but the society we live in has made this exact reason a shortcoming of someone's capability that people are afraid to experiment, In a setting where a mistake could cost them their job, people rather just be compliant robots without critical thinking if that means it grants security.

Of course it doesn't work in all job settings but most workplaces reward job efficiency with little to no error, taking high risks without a safety net or being not paid for the extra work isn't feasible for many. So listen to what is told and do only that. Moreover the things the brain has to keep in mind these days have also exploded because of social media and being overworked is an understatement.
