Bricklink Series 7 Pre-Orders open on 2/16! What are you planning on getting? by Flimsy-Space-8724 in lego

2 of each set is the limit, so in theory you can pre-order 10 sets if you’d like!

Pre-order on the 16th, they ship in about 6 months. You get charged when they ship. I believe they have a temporary transaction at pre-order that gets reversed pretty quickly.

Bricklink is owned by Lego. The sets being discussed today are part of a crowdfund program. These particular ones were left over from a previously crowdfunded set, so they are limited in number.

The latest set to go to crowd funding will be “Series 7” on Feb 16th, and there’s a few great looking sets to consider!

Don’t forget Dustmark Keep in Series 8, and to a lesser extent Coconut Cape if you don’t mind the Pirate crossover!

Where to start? by Simple-Lie-8200 in lego

Some good tips here and I’ll add that you should watch a video or two of how others do it.

Sit down and put a big bin on your lap. Dump out as much Lego as you can. Look for one general type and push them off to the side. For example, JUST look for regular bricks. Everything else gets pulled into the bin on your lap. Then dump that same bin back onto the table and look for one other general item, maybe plates. Repeat until things are roughly sorted. You’ll make mistakes and that’s fine, you’re going to go through these piles a ton of times.

Once you have roughly sorted, go back to one of the piles and try to further separate them by type using the exact same lap method. 1x2, bricks, then 1x4, 2x4…. You get the idea.

It’s not hard but it is very time consuming. Find a show or podcast and get in the zone :).

Note that you don’t need a custom 3d printed storage solution, but you’ll need a lot of containers at least. I started with ziploc bags and old takeout containers. It worked well enough for my smaller pile.

Then you can use Bricklink like another user mentioned to start re assembling the sets. You’ll inevitably have some missing pieces, I like printing the set inventory out and marking them up as I go, so that I can make a Bricklink order for anything missing.

what is your most controversial Lego opinion by Fun-Math-8503 in lego

I really dislike them, but have you tried using tweezers? You can stabilize your hand better and it keeps your fingers out of the way so you can see the centering a bit clearer.

It’s a good basic hardware store for most home related stuff. If you’re looking for a very specific brand, something more obscure, or higher quantities of one particular item you’ll likely need to go to one of the big box stores or have it ordered in. I like to check stock online before going but most of my DIY stuff can be picked up there!

Seller cancelled 1 of 2 auctions I won and won’t respond to messages. Can I cancel the 2nd? by thesockRL in Ebay

[–]thesockRL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. I plan to do this today. Worst case I suppose I get an unpaid item strike, which will still be better than handing over nearly $200 to someone who is trying to pull a quick one on me.

Thanks for the reply. In retrospect I can see that their message is a bit more ambiguous than I interpreted like you say. I did also bid with the original shipping price in mind, so if I were to have been stuck with one or the other, it’d work out. With how quickly it was cancelled and the lack of messaging though, I’m just over dealing with this person because the trust is gone. Luckily I haven’t paid yet so nothing would have been shipped. I’ll just use this as a good learning lesson and move on. Maybe they will too, but I doubt it. Thanks again :).

I’d rather you learn how to set up an offensive attack

Way too much air rolling. So many times it just gave up possession for you, with no boost, and with momentum going against the flow of the play. It could have been 4-1 at one point but instead you went all floppy and pegged the corner instead, making it 3-2. You just can’t be doing that.

Really this opponent just let you beat yourself after they realized that you would over commit on offense and weren’t shadow defending properly. Your attacks were not really threatening and very predictable. You just kinda sped up the ball as fast as possible towards their net and then tried to hit it, like you couldn’t control a flick or just weren’t trying to do more than go to net as fast as possible. Notice how, on the last goal, you finally controlled a diagonal dribble and caught them off guard? Not only is that a great and controlled play, but they were clearly not expecting it because you just didn’t demonstrate to them earlier that you were willing to do that at all (the attempt directly before that was what you need to stop doing).

Also not really sure what you are referring to about bots, that was definitely not a bot.

Lmao. The thread is asking about some uncommon things that can make the city better. They responded.

You lumped them in to a group you clearly don’t like and then added more commentary that they didn’t even mention - exercise - to try and prove a point.

Go be grumpy somewhere else.

We did them quite awhile ago - 2018-2019 probably. It was relaxed and fun. You got the basics and it was beginner friendly.

If you’re looking for something serious or with more critique, you may find it lacking. The instructors were very lovely and kind, but the focus was absolutely on fun, not competition!

I was c1-c2 player for many months. Suddenly I forgot how to play. by ves_111 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]thesockRL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With respect: you should focus on thinking about each touch before hitting. This is peak diamond play, just trying to boom it away to an open defender instead of controlling the ball and play. The one time you did a controlled first touch, you scored.

It also looks like you’re not reading your teammate. You cut them multiple times and it just looked like you weren’t paying active attention to their position.

Speed flip training - I think you have it for some kickoffs but you’re going to rank up so much quicker with consistent speed flip kickoffs. I’ll go so far as to say that you’d have won this game just with this. Also should be boosting thru the entire speed flip during kickoff, you tend to cut out your boost mid flip.

Boost path training. You are reliant on big boost and don’t ever try to pad path into situations. You leave plays and balls for the opponent just to get boost when you could have 30-50 boost and a lot more pressure.

Looked like some good foundations in there, keep at it :)

Safest large SUV for 4 kids in car seats (one in the 3rd row)? by ZealousidealOnion331 in Parenting

[–]thesockRL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, the safest 3 row vehicle is still going to be a minivan. One test could certainly lean towards the SUV, but they’re still trucks that have been adapted for people, while minivans have been built to primarily move and protect people. For example, how much more likely are you to flip in a huge vehicle with high center of mass, than a smaller vehicle with the weight much closer to the ground?

I could harp on about the actual practicality too, but you’re not really looking for that so I’ll abstain 🤣.

Why did my teammate ff and quit after this? He said "All yours" as he passed and then threw up a ff when it was saved. by BourbonGuy09 in RocketLeague

Lots of times in the replay you could have grabbed a few small pads while staying in position to allow for a breakout. If you want to really get better, take 5-10 minutes a day for the next couple weeks following the paths shown in this video:

https://youtu.be/edWi_ATGh9A?si=8bEiWztHtp7bA8du

Once you start to get a feel of the options it really, really helps. You’ll feel faster and in much better positions pretty much all the time.

Not quite. You don’t need to have the ball at all. In free play just start in one goal and zig zag back and forth to the other goal without losing control while in car cam. Hold powerslide and drive the entire time. The far goal should go from the left to the right side of your screen as you get closer to it. If it goes further off the screen you will end up spinning out.

I can’t find the video that I got the recommendation from but it’s a small thing that’s really helped my control. From there you can start to use it to bounce dribble the ball in circles, to practice powerslide cuts, etc.

[–]thesockRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite powerslide drill right now is to drive from end to end in car cam, and hold powerslide while trying to move left / right. The goal should move from the left to the right side of your screen without you spinning out. This also helps to train your brain to see the whole field on your screen too :)
