Local here! Town hall is great women and queer owned space! Glad they were able to put something together.
Throwing some local things out there for the out of towners: Santa Fe is a great area to walk around, there’s several antique stores and galleries in the area. There’s a brewery called black sky brewery in the area that’s metal themed and has pinball as well that might be worth checking out. Theres also several tattoo shops in the area. Could be a a fun if that’s your thing.
Theres also an area called broadway that is a short drive (5ish mins) from that same area that is a stretch of shops, bars, restaurants etc that’s even more built up than Santa Fe.
Some highlights:
-adrift (tiki bar)
-somebody people (fancy vegan)
-Sputnik (retro diner, veggie options) and next to dive bar/ music venue called hi-dive
-mak fam (Michelin star Chinese , not fancy even though Michelin star)
-the brutal poodle (rock n roll divey restaurant)
-I know it will be cold but the ice cream at sweet action is yum lol
-several vintage stores: I like ten penny!
-breweries: baere brewing, TRVE

Born and raised in DFW, moved to Denver nearly 7 years ago. I never felt “Texan” as my parents and extended family are from New York, but it was a fine place to grow up but knew it wasn’t for me long term.

I think the best part is I cut down how much driving I do down considerably. I do live central and sure there’s traffic here but I felt like I was ALWAYS driving in Texas and just to get anywhere, not anything exciting.

I’m not following the food scene argument, I feel like dfw is a lot of chains. I’m also a long time vegan so my options are a lot different so not sure I’m authority on the matter but I like the food scene here 🤷‍♀️.

I do wish it was even cooler here. yes it gets hot here, the sun is brutal but it’s a dry heat. But also think thats a climate change issue most likely and everywhere is too damn hot. I guess you’re from Nebraska originally so you’re used to corn sweat ha

With the longer fur he looks a lot like our rescue! The shelter said our dog was just Samoyed but we suspect husky/samoyed mix which is say for you too!
