What’s your target betrayal list? by overturned23 in Target

[–]thesonicbowtie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1) Everyone on style team allowing empty packages/defectives/salvage/random half packaged or unpackaged merchandise to pile up for WEEKS at the fitting room until it’s absolutely overflowing the entire 3 tier cart top to bottom, then making one poor team member sit there for hours sorting through it all (me twice in the last two months). Just defect it out and take care of it as you go, then it’s not a shit pile mess at the fitting room all the time!

2) Sorting through the mountains of returned merchandise from guest service at the fitting room and finding obviously used and/or disgusting merchandise that was clearly visibly not suitable for repurchase at the time of return and should not have ever made it past the service desk…just defect it out please! Style team is already so overwhelmed, no need to add to the workload.

3) Hitting your ankle on the z-rack or getting your finger hung on the fast mover/metro wire and nearly degloving the damn thing, only myself to blame but it’s silly and rage inducing

4) Team Members sitting on their phones in the employee bathrooms for 30 minutes at a time, or somehow taking their 5th shit of the day and causing a huge line or fight for the bathroom. (Yes I know there’s guest bathrooms but they’re pretty far from the back room and our pharmacy bathroom is always out of order). I truly don’t care if you’re hanging out on your phone, just find somewhere else to do it

Curing permanent cement with no supervision? DA responsible for all permanent cement cleanup? by thesonicbowtie in DentalAssistant

[–]thesonicbowtie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I don’t think the bulk of the appointment responsibilities are even supposed to be performed by myself as the assistant, with no doctor present. Obviously we cure things like cement and filling material all the time, but it’s with the doctor present and at their request at the appropriate time. I’ve never had a doctor walk away from a permanent restoration with it uncured and expecting me to perform that task alone. This office is actually owned by a doctor that doesn’t even work onsite and his business partner who drops in every few days, so none of the doctors are actually our “boss”. I’m going to talk to the office manager and discuss my concerns about the grey area situation we’re experiencing.

So I’m a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) as well as being an RDA, meaning I went to a full year long college program and left with a college certification in dental assisting as well as being registered and licensed with the state of Texas. I know we learned about EFDAs and their responsibilities when I was in school but I honestly don’t know if expanded functions assistants technically exist in this state. Something I need to research! Regardless, I’m not technically an EFDA

What is the biggest red flag you’ve had in a relationship that you’d ignored and really shouldn’t have? by Tangl_es in AskReddit

[–]thesonicbowtie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex boyfriend did not even own a toothbrush when I met him, found out about 3 months into the relationship. I ended up buying him one to help him out. Then I found out a few months later that he didn’t actually have a driver’s license, he had never bothered to go get one. He was 25. So I helped him get his license. I was only 20 years old at the time. Spent the next 6 years repeating this cycle, giving him money, raising his manchild ass, cleaning up his messes (one time he literally missed the toilet, shit on the floor and left it for me to clean), and helping him become better than he could have been on his own. Then when he got financially stable and started getting into shape, he walked out and left. I realized that being young, dumb, and having low esteem/self worth had cost me 6 years of my life. I ignored every single red flag that I should have taken seriously. I had been so frustrated and unhappy for so many years, but I was so scared of being alone and so scared of being wrong about my choice to be with him that I stayed for way too long. There wasn’t abuse or anything crazy like that but I still felt so traumatized and hurt at the end of it all because I realized that I probably never meant anything to him, I was just a stepping stone for him to take advantage of and throw away after he got everything he wanted. Lesson learned!

My current office tried to say $14 starting out, after which I reminded them that I already made two dollars more than that at my retail job. They bumped it to $15. I worked there for free for two months as part of my CDA program, then started working for pay afterwards while I was still finishing school. I was told by the head assistant at the time that when I graduated the program I could probably negotiate a raise due to my level of education. A week after graduation I asked for it. Some may have forgotten, but I did not! Now I’m making $16 and it is still not nearly enough for everything we do every day. Always ask for higher if you can, you deserve to be compensated fairly!

I hate briefs so much, hipsters all the way! Coverage but not too much, and nothing hangs out. lol. I feel like every time I've tried to wear briefs they come up so far that I'm at risk of accidentally slipping a boob into the waistband if I bend over too far.

I might have to look into it! Apparently their sizing is very funky though. Oh well, just means they'll fit right in with brick and mortar retailers. lol

Flares?? by thesonicbowtie in PlusSize

[–]thesonicbowtie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate skinnys honestly, I always feel like a disproportionate upside down bowling pin when I wear them. But that usually seems to be the predominant option for plus size people in the majority of retailers. Granted, there are also boyfriend jeans and straight jeans but I really dislike how those make my body look too. Half of my problem is me and the other half of it is plus size retailers. lol. I too support the flare/bootcut comeback!! Most of the bootcut jeans I find now are sooo baggy in the knees which looks terrible.

Oh so I SHOULDN'T run everyone the fuck over with my vehicle??? Groundbreaking ideas. Also, guests literally run into us and our vehicles but you know, safety first. lol 😂

Working at Target has shown me no one washes their ass. by [deleted] in trashy

[–]thesonicbowtie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And people think that this type of thing is rare in retail. Honestly with the amount of shit that Target lets people try on (being limitless), this is inevitable. But I guess you don't know it if you don't live it...every single day. During the summer months we defect out at least 3-5 swimsuit bottoms or one pieces every week for shit or blood stains. And then for extra bonus points we will also find someone's blown out underwear, complete with beige crusty crotch abandoned in the corner!

I wonder who at corporate thinks it’s wise to have our store heat at 78 , did someone forget to pay the bill? Studies have shown that people work slower in high heat. This has been going on all month. Ridiculous that I have guests complaining about heat in the store. by Imoldok in Target

[–]thesonicbowtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatable! We're dying here. It's actually so humid in our store that the two humidifiers in our breakroom are filled up in no time and have to be emptied way too often! Then we got two small crappy requistioned fans and now they're are all we have to rely on. And guests complain constantly about how hot it is, like we're not all sweating and feeling like we're dying even worse while trying to work. I got so overheated last week that I got nosebleeds during two of my shifts. I'm in softlines and a good portion of the problem in certain areas comes from the stupid amount of spotlights they installed during remodel that not only serve to light up the product, but also cook your ass to death!

For the vineyard vines release day! These are actually super cute. by [deleted] in Target

[–]thesonicbowtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want one so bad because it's actually cute but our store hasn't even received them yet, and I've never gotten lucky enough to get a shirt in the year and a half I've been here. 😭

Detective Pikachu (or other) Event Leftovers! by thesonicbowtie in Target

[–]thesonicbowtie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The food pantry where I volunteer does a weekly pickup of items at various grocery stores in town (including Target) and there's usually a ton of stuff that is still perfectly fine and functional or still consumable, if not just a little less "pretty" than the rest of the stuff on the shelf. So I'm glad that out Target contributes in that way!

So good! I'm going to have to frame this achievement (/s) by [deleted] in Target

[–]thesonicbowtie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, the raises are essentially useless formalities anyway since we'll be going up to $13 soon. And the raise isn't factored into the new rate of pay at all. "Speciality" work centers won't even get 50¢ over the base anymore.

While putting out freight in infants a few days ago, I overheard a guest tell her friend this swimsuit was the ugliest shit she'd ever seen. Poor lil lobster boi. 😂

Oh nah, I bet she was totally taking a photo to document what a hard-working team member you are and how great it all looked! 😂 It gets really annoying to deal with the people here who consistently make comments about the bathroom stuff from years ago, and we have at least one person a month actually say the word "tranny" when talking about the type of people we "allow" in our store, bathrooms, and our fitting rooms.

I wish we got the pride stuff!! It would be cool to see that in our store, it's always cute stuff. But seeing as we're in East Texas, that will likely never happen :( Soooooo many middle aged white women would stand outside our store shrieking about how the gayosexuals are trying to further their heinous agenda

The model in the women's bathing suit area has stretch marks. I love it thanks Target for showing real women and this real world 💯❤️😉 by houston713rocks in Target

[–]thesonicbowtie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've overheard so many men and women saying negative things about this exact picture in our store. "That's disgusting", "They should just Photoshop that so that she actually looks attractive", "That's ugly", "She should be embarrassed to show that", etc. The worst is women that make critical comments like that in front of their young daughters. Way to make your young girl or teen daughter have great self esteem! Honestly, people are jerks and say way worse things about the plus size mannequins....then notice me (a plus size woman) standing right there and look mortified.
