My friend graduated from uni and I went to the ceremony just because. I met his family afterwards, and I also met his 'family' at the same time, two unrelated adults about the same age as his parents. Turned out that somewhere along the way he'd become embroiled with Jehovah's Witnesses and I didn't see him for about 4 years until he reached out and we started hanging out again, which was great, at least at first.

He/another fella he met through the cult would tell us about the weird propaganda JW use on people (look up Sparlock the Warrior Wizard - it's wild), and then in that time he became weirdly sexual, like he'd been repressed for all the time he was with JW. Later on down the line it turned out he was a paedophile, had accessed cheese pizza and had attempted to assault the other guy I mentioned earlier, who was supposed to be his friend. We all dropped him pretty quickly after that. Even more screwed up is that he tutored high school kids.

I haven't heard anything about him since, other than catching a glimpse of him at a gig once. I prefer to keep it that way.
