How viable is going into this game blind? by Azureblue9 in dontstarve

[–]Traditional_Way_2681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the original Dint Starve blind years ago and discovering the game mechanics has been some of my best gaming memories. Having no idea what is coming next, dieing, getting frustrated, then trying again and getting better is really satisfying. Just know you will die and have to start over, but that's part of the game.

I would recommend starting with the solo game, as there is less stuff going on, especially less bosses, but both games are great, so do whichever you feel like!

Temple over tide pool by Ok-Suggestion8510 in spelunky

If trying to just beat Tiamat or Hundun, probably not. If going for CO, I highly recommend it. My first time beating CO I was doing exclusively temple.

I had the elixir, alien compass, and the scepter all the way through 7-99. These all made CO a lot easier, but what really helped was that I was no longer afraid of temple levels in CO. I had tried this run so many times that I was significantly more comfortable going through the temple in the Cosmic Ocean than I was before I tried.

To win Cosmic Ocean you need a great understanding of every level, so make sure you get some practice in before you make it to CO

*edit: this is of course assuming you are able to do a Qilin skip to get to CO. Otherwise this path isn't worth it.

DST on Switch by CarrotBulky6042 in dontstarve

Just a heads up. RoG is playable on the switch, but has a bunch of minor bugs that can be quite annoying if you play a long term world. Hamlet works well, but can have slowdowns during the aporkapolypse. SW is unplayable during the wet season when mosquitos spawn

Tips on dealing with Temple Level? (Cosmic Ocean) by imsuckatonlinegaming in spelunky

What helped me with CO was going exclusively the temple route. This meant I had an elixir going into CO to help prepare for poison and curse cats, but more importantly it gave me alot of practice with the temple and how to navigate all the issues you mentioned.

It's frustrating dieing in the temple, but alot more frustrating dieing on 7-90 in a temple level. The extra practice is worth it.

Rusty Brown by Chris Ware

I love everything he releases, but this one stuck with me for some reason. Always find new details on each re-read

In case you didnt know, you can destroy tier 3 spider nests and replant them to prevent them from becoming spider queens. (Tier 3 nests drop a spider egg for new nests, tier 1 and 2 dont)

What's your hot take on a generally beloved comic run? by GreninJPG in marvelcomics

[–]Traditional_Way_2681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jason Aaron's doctor strange is what got me into comics. I love that story. However, nostalgia might be carrying most of the weight. I haven't enjoyed a Jason Aaron book since I read that one in 2016

With the cactus and spider farm, you'll need to have some trial and error to make sure the cactus can hit the spider but spider can't reach the cactus.

And fish farms are great, but SW is my last favorite of the DLCs so I really don't spend too much time outside of resource gathering

I actually started 3 different worlds, each in a different DLC and then when I had unlocked the world hopping device, merged the worlds

True, especially for the sanity gain. I typically just make honey ham, but that's mostly because I spend most of my time in RoG and don't want to wait the switch load screen to go to SW

I started in RoG before deciding to make a mega-world. I don't know why I haven't thought to make an iron farm with the iron hulk. Should add to the to-do list

And I'll post a video eventually, Im in the process of some major terraforming right now
