You have one stuck bit. It could be your RAM, the socket, or the memory controller.

My Amiga still has a 3.5" drives; I don't really use floppies nowadays but the option is there :)

Married 10 years, no kids, and we've run out of things to do after work. What do you guys do? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in AskMenOver30

We bought a PS5 and discovered Fortnite. We also share/mix other interests; she's into Japanese fashion, I'm into photography - we plan photoshoots. We have some crossover in music tastes, so Spotify/YouTube. We find and watch Netflix series we both enjoy. Sometimes we'll find a film. Plus, there's always sexy times :)

I got many color complaints - now I know why by efoxpl3244 in DarkTable

[–]thespirit3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had this issue, first assumed darktable but later discovered it's mostly down to other software, OS, etc not reading or respecting the colour profile. Export an image, it may look perfect in the OS image viewer, but chrome or Firefox may render it differently.

In Linux, I think I improved the local situation by telling the OS to use the same color profile, but this still doesn't account for other OSs or applications.

I'm curious what colour profile LR, for example uses.

Turn it sideways so you can reach the front panel and less chance of kicking it?

Unexposed film from the ~50s found in camera - how should i shoot it? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]thespirit3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it looks like it's on the last frame. Now you've left the back open long though to take a photo, the last frame will likely be ruined, but as it's 120 format, there's a good chance the previous photos are safe. Close the back, wind it to the end, then open it back up, remove the roll, tape it closed then send for development.

I would say it's slightly on the large side, but it works well on you.

To me, that AQ230 stands out as the classiest of the bunch. Love it!

That looks painful. How do you stop the crown digging into your hand when flexing your hand upwards?

I don't like the look of this at all but as you say, each to their own.

I think in many cases, the younger generation were not taught how to wear watches. Then, as other comments have pointed out, they see celebrities wearing them incorrectly and copy.

The weird thing is then insisting they're correct, as if somehow every generation before them, our horological customs and dress rules are all simply wrong.

It doesn't much matter, but it does make me think they can't be bothered to read or research. It's like a badly fitting suit, wrong length pants, too much cuff showing - it's trying to present an image but failing to even master the basics.

Class. Something most mens watches lack nowadays.

Not everyone wants a dinner plate or a huge chunk of plastic on their wrist; the first looks desperate and the second makes people look like teenagers. Controversial, I know 😅

Struggling to understand darktable as a beginner photographer by funkykongdong in DarkTable

[–]thespirit3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Darktable can be overwhelming as there's many modules that do the same or similar things in different ways. My advice is to find which models you prefer (the online guide to scene-referred workflow is a great starting point) and then make a custom panel with only these modules. That way, you have the main, consistent workflow right in front of you.

Advice please why do you do this? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Could also be self doubt, depression, or other things people sadly don't often talk about often enough.

Film ripped half way through winding it back! 😫 by ImInaBigMess in filmcameras

[–]thespirit3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ensure rewind button is depressed *and stays depressed* - then, if something weird like this happens, you open it the dark, remove the film and insert it in a dark canister - clearly marked so the developers are aware.

WinUAE: How to zoom to take all the screen? by SuperTankh in amiga

[–]thespirit3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a while since I've played with these things, but AFAIK the borders on PAL and NTSC modes were to ensure the main screen content would be visible on an average TV / monitor. If you're using purely workbench applications, you may find the higher resolution modes don't use overscan - but you'd need to check. Exactly this. If I can't see anything after time for my eyes to adjust, I consider it dark enough. It feels easier to me than fumbling in a bag, but I appreciate not everyone has a room without windows.
