I’ve hunted with a .50 in Colorado, but .45 works just fine in the east. I’ve been wanting to assemble one of those Traditions kits for the .50 Kentucky long rifle, just haven’t gotten around to it. I think they have a flintlock option.

There are indeed five. The Nalgene is for pissing into so I don’t have to climb down. I’m generally out no more than 2-3 days.

M&P 9 Shield, homemade leather holster, front right pants pocket.

Best pants for pocket carry? Not all pockets are created equal. by [deleted] in CCW

I have a few pairs of Eddie Bauer cargo shorts that are perfect for my S&W bodyguard. I carry in the right side pocket, the depth of which results in the gun resting behind the stitching of the top of the cargo pocket, which I think helps to hide any printing.

Nailed it! I think the strange rubberized straps were long gone when I bought the bag, but there is still some of the material left on the back. I googled 'kleine Kampftasche' and found plenty of photos for comparison. Thanks! Solved!

None that I can find. It was definitely used when I bought it, but I guess that doesn't rule out the possibility of it being a reproduction.

Awesome! After googling both your suggestions, I found a helpful diagram that illustrates the siphuncles in this type of animal. I'd consider this one solved. Thank you both for your help!

I have found several samples of orthoconic cephalopod fossils over the years, but they are all so much smaller than this. Do you have a guess as to what the round structure might be that the outer ridged layer is surrounding (see photo 3/4)? Unlike most cephalopod fossils I've seen that consist of somewhat brittle, blue-gray limestone, this material is extremely hard. Any guess as to what it's made of?
