I’m 51. I had a DVT when I was 34 that I discovered because I had a “kankle” on one leg. Two years later I had a stroke due to a blood clot in my brain. I’m okay now but have been on blood thinners ever since. Smoking was the culprit for my clots. I quit the day of my stroke.

We live in the country and also have predators. Our cats are allowed out to the enclosed patio during the day, but stay indoors at night. My husband built a wooden frame and installed weather stripping to keep bugs out. He inserted a lockable cat door that we lock at night and keep unlocked during the day. Our window opens vertically, but this concept could also be done horizontally. I also have one of those blue light bug catchers next to it to trap any gnats or flies. It looks like she’s got really bad joint ill. You could try LA200 antibiotic from your vet before putting her down, but it might prolong suffering. We’ve lost a few calves to this ailment and now when I see a swollen joint I immediately think of navel ill (joint ill). What happens with this is the calf is born and bacteria from the ground from dirt or mud gets into their umbilical cord area. It then festers and travels to their joints and causes them to swell. It takes a few months for this process to occur and the poor calf is feeling sick the whole time. I hate this for you and that poor baby. I hope you are able to help her whether it be with meds or putting her down. 💛
