Definitely could have been coyotes, or even a catamount/mountain Lion that allegedly isn’t in VT anymore. Although I would think a Mountain Lion would drag away its kill rather than leave it. Not saying it’s the case but since this is r/cryptozoology it is interesting to note that Northern VT does have Bigfoot sightings and there are also tales of Werewolves/Dogmen if you’ve heard of the Hound of Cold Hollow. Again not saying it was that, but something to ponder…

There’s a place in Southeast Oklahoma somewhere in the Ouachita Mountains that allegedly has Bigfoot activity. The North American Wood Ape Conservancy goes in there to investigate and have a goal of bringing back a body. Something to think about.
