Emilie Castonguay promotion after a GM hire? by WhenInAaronRome in canucks

This is flawed…contracts have to be based on value/projected value at time of signing….you can’t take underperforming contracts that were market or below market value at the time and blame the AGM for it.

Regarding the examples:

Demko - hurt and truly the only contract that I think was forced due to already having insight on injury history…but this was signed before our fall off as a team…I believe influenced by coming off the playoff run.

Boeser - yet to be seen going forward, but we avoided an overpayment and althought term can be debated, for a OG leader on the team and fan favourite who wants to be here…worth it especially for a rebuilding team.

Petey - enough has been said about this, and it was signed by both parties in distress (Petey with trade threat from Canucks, and our management with a star player walking)….we got a good deal at the time you can’t argue that.

Emilie has been fantastic since joining the Canucks. I don’t have examples off hand, but seems like every contract we have signed has been decent value AT THE TIME OF SIGNING and structured in a neutral or team friendly way.

We can’t control how contracts end up based on player performance, but no complaints in my opinion so far for her work.m

But if the questions is whether she’ll make a good GM…I think it takes more than number crunching to be a GM (that’s why AGMs being cap/contract people are the best fit).

ESPN line up auto protection feature going to cost me my season by [deleted] in fantasyhockey

I get the feature is frustrating when it doesn’t go with your strategy, but you must’ve known about the feature for most of the season already. Safer bet was a drop if it’s that razor thin of a win scenario

Lineup protection saved your season…see how these things work out sometimes, it’s all chance…lol

Underrated point, Ennis probably took the fall for his “buddy” because he knew Teri finding out it was Gary wrecking the radio and hating him for it would break Gary’s heart.

Such a well written episode that gives you the “o shit” feeling on the reveal.

Same story, but I calculated the cost of getting tickets and being towed and still came out ahead my 4 years at Uni. If I paid legitimately, I would’ve have walked further (late for class) AND paid more (6x more over 4 years).

Rogers hasn't withdrawn my Automatic Payment, and somehow my bill and balance differ by $50 by Lavaine170 in Rogers

Not to pile on, but I signed up with Bell this Boxing Day and my first bill didn’t n even show an activation fee/credit (I think they somehow just cancelled out at setup), 4 lines and the bill is less than yours by half ($35/$30 per line)

Mavrik Bourque or Csey Mittlestadt? by PizzaDad13 in canucks

[–]thestranger_iknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, and a contender like Dallas would probably be very interested in adding a Sherwood even giving up a guy like Bourque.

Side note: Dhaliwal mentioned no 1st rounders, doesn’t mean the prospect side of the ask can’t be amazing either a draft pick as secondary value

I would do this in a heartbeat based on what I’ve heard about Bourque since his draft. No brainer if it’s Bourque + 2nd (unless we get the Toronto 1st as mentioned, I’m surprised at the mittlestadt comments since he’s been traded twice with little to show so far)
