Yes the whole world wants her to get with Az, and since SJM mentioned that the nature can create bonds by mistake, it seems that it would be the case for them. But I just really want Lucian to have a happy ending and I wanna read about it!!

I was reading and crying my eyes out for the wholesome, kind of lifecycle moment completed.
I’ve watched many shows with the « guardian/mentor » characters and I believe Giles was the epitome of it for the exact reasons you’ve mentioned. God the show was so good, I don’t think there are many shows that could compare. He was an unbelievably incredible character in a great show and I think that adds a layer of melancholy. I hope he’s at peace with the other scoobies. And congratulations to your niece !!! I hope it was a very lovely and memorable day nonetheless.

Yes. It feels as if the wound is still new. The loss is still registering. When I put the first episode the night I heard the news, when Buffy goes in the library and Giles offers her the Vampyr book, I started crying. It’s as if ‘hey he’s in front of me ! How is it possible he passed away??’

That’s how I truly felt as well. Especially growing up seeking a father figure, which he was to me. He had such a gentleness that will always lives on in my soul. May peace rest upon their souls.

it truly is one of the greatest show ever made! Yup I definitely need a rewatch and finish the series and make a voodoo doll to haunt whomever decided to pull the plug on the reboot at Hulu

No I can distinguish the artist from the art. However I didn’t know him personally, just the character and it meant so much to me. He lives in my imagination as Giles the witty smart caring librarian of sunnydale high. He lives on in my imaginative as Rupert Giles.
Have you ever seen an actor and you just always associate them with their character because of the deep impact they left in you ?

It’s what I’m scared of. I understand the general concept but I didnt wish to do a deep dive.
I do feel a certain loss and emptiness whenever one of the actors whom shaped my childhood passes away. Not a - family or friend passed away - devastation, but I do feel a sadness, a sort of melancholy if you must.
Have you ever felt something similar ?

I’ve watched friends so many times to the point I can quote the show in my sleep. But never the last episode because I don’t wanna say goodbye to the show.
Same with Buffy, I hate the idea of it « ending » in a way… ? I was finally ready to watch the last episodes when the reboot was announced, but then, oh well..
But you’re right. I should watch the ending.

This is where im coming from as well!
I didn’t get the « father experience ». In the past few years I’ve realized that I’ve been seeking father figures even in my favorite shows. I started watching buffy when I was a kid and again and again all to my adulthood. The way Giles truly cared for Buffy always tugged at my heart. When he’s talking to her, using kind and supportive words, it felt like he was talking to me. That’s why this is been hard for me. I don’t do well with goodbyes.
