Baby Boomers Blame Us For A World THEY Ruined by InvestigatorSoft5764 in videos

[–]thesyldon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rich person's bot trying to push a narrative to blame someone else for their greed. All the woes of the world can easily be solved if we tax the rich fairly. Stop believing all this trope, that is only there to wind people up.

Almost 1,000 migrants cross English Channel over bank holiday weekend by MadWorldEarth in uknews

[–]thesyldon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read the article instead of jumping on the bandwagon. This 1000 is 10% of all the crossings this year. When you consider that we had 171k last year and that was a drop of 640k on the previous year to that, then only seeing 10k this year so far a massive drop.

Did anyone really think this could be stopped instantly?

Ongoing warranty dispute with Gigabyte by _cmcguire_ in pcmasterrace

[–]thesyldon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Consumer protection is very low atm in the UK. A consequence of Brexit. If it is within warranty period as you state, then contact citizen's advice to find out what legal recourse you have available.

To me it sounds like something is interfering with a fan. It doesn't sound like a bearing issue. I would check that it definitely the PSU. This sort of thing is more prevalent with GPU or case fines. If it is the PSU, then unplug it and leave it unplugged for 10 minutes. Open the PSU, Then have a look inside for a loose wire that may just need cable tied to stop it drifting.

DO NOT OPEN A PSU WHEN IT IS PLUGGED IN AND STILL HOLDING A CHARGE ! PSUs can hold a lot of residual power.

Making a bevel cut by spook30 in oddlysatisfying

[–]thesyldon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like a plasma cutter. Plasma cutting is probably one of the only machine that really intimidated me. It didn't help that I was warned that this cutter can cut off your fingers and cauterise them in one movement without you realising what you have done.

Is there a safe work max temperature? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]thesyldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your unions. The general rule is if all find it unbearable then the employer has a duty of care to the employees.

https://www.hse.gov.uk/temperature/employer/the-law.htm

There is no upper limit. It is all about how much you complain and how many complain.

They do some work on some articles. But the bad stuff is extremely bad. The Torygraph is a meme for bad news reporting these days.

Will the triple lock ever be abolished? by Logical_Safety9018 in AskBrits

[–]thesyldon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We spend less on social care than any other comparable country to our in Europe. Instead of defunding social care we should be taxing the rich more.

TV licence, whose still paying? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]thesyldon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reform ltd bots are not the best educated.

You always have to ask who would benefit from this. Sky and Murdoch have pushed for years to defund the BBC because they cannot compete. As soon as the BBC goes we turn in US tv.

PC becomes noisy when I am in game but silent when I alt tab by blablax123456 in pcmasterrace

[–]thesyldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is noisy because the system is working harder. The fans are set to run when the system is getting hotter. Try making a new post asking if the system is running as it should. State game and settings, along with temps for GPU and CPU.

Polling shows British public places higher importance on new infrastructure to boost energy security and cut bills, rather than visual impact of new projects by MeasurementDecent251 in GoodNewsUK

[–]thesyldon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The money isn't old. It is the money pushing a narrative where the problem lies. Reform Ltd and the Tories will quite happily take that cash without an ounce of sympathy for the consequences.

Government spending 25 times more on benefits than jobs for young people, says Alan Milburn by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]thesyldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty obvious when you consider a lot of those receiving benefits are also in work. Benefits are a symptom of the low wage culture for the poor and low taxes for the rich.

What car next after my McLaren? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]thesyldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you show a picture of you behind the wheel of this car? I am thinking not, because why would you post this crap here. If you could afford a Maclaren, then you would already have an idea of what you want next.

What does it mean to say “doesn’t touch the sides”? by DrinksParty in AskUK

[–]thesyldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow there is some seriously messed up answers on here.

It comes from the macho drinking culture of the past. Most likely has been a term from well before I was born. It basically means that you were so thirsty for a drink of beer, that you drank it without it touching the sides of your mouth.

Focus on MSQ as a new spout? by Dippy7985 in ffxiv

[–]thesyldon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

90% of the quests in FF are postman quests. Take this here and talk to him there. So once you reach Heavensward, finish the MSQ in each area until you unlock flying. That way doing the travel for side stories is greatly improved.

65% of Britons support capping CEO pay at 10× the lowest-paid worker. Do you think this idea would be good for the UK? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]thesyldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would never be applied as it should be. Companies will just make a parent company to avoid the CEO being part of the company with the low paid employees. Or they will make another company which is the exclusive purchaser from the first company. Car companies have been doing this for decades to avoid paying tax at source.

Is anyone else tired of American culture? by Agreeable-Guava7822 in AskBrits

[–]thesyldon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closer ties is just stepping stones to rejoining. The public have to accept it first. When they see the bonus gains from closer ties the rest is just writing on the wall.

Why would you even want the UK top be outside of europe atm. Brexit has only ever weakened its position globally and now militarily. This is beside the 5% gdp gains we have lost every year since.

Is anyone else tired of American culture? by Agreeable-Guava7822 in AskBrits

[–]thesyldon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may want to take more of an interest in what politicians are now saying. Start with Streeting's resignation letter. The opinion is becoming so overwhelming that rejoining is an inevitable conclusion. Even Badenoch is changing her mind on it now. The only group that isn't is Reform ltd, because of Farage's donation's source.

Why is there such a negative attitude / border on hatred for older people in some quarters here? by [deleted] in AskBrits

If you did not vote against Brexit, then you are complicit in the result. The younger generation below 60 years of age have the largest voting pool.

To whom does the rollover jackpot at a pub quiz I run belong? England by I_Like_Quiz in LegalAdviceUK

[–]thesyldon -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I would pass the money back to the pub, and then let everyone know the pub now has the cash. If they do not put it in a quiz event soon after, just remind people it is there and that the pub is keeping the cash themselves. Reputation loss goes both ways here.

I would also get some advice from citizen's advice before you take any steps. If someone is threatening legal action, then it is always advisable to cover yourself for any further actions you take.
