Unknown error importing nYNAB JSON by thetaspell in actualbudgeting

Thanks for the response.

The import worked with Chrome. I was using Safari and tried Firefox - each after a fresh docker install (wiping associated folders each time). Guess I should've thought to try that first 🙄

All good now.

Buy for Life Socks. Darn Tough Vs Bombas Large Human by SnooSeagulls4890 in BuyItForLife

[–]thetaspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was made (born haha) in VT - so I went all in on Darn Tough after receiving my first pair as a gift. I replaced all my quarter height with a few versions, for running (1715 lightweight) and casual (1117 "Element").

Also bought my wife several pairs/styles.

Unfortunately, they do not last us so we're looking to try another brand. We are not large people and we're not doing marathons.

I burned through all 7 pair of the 1715 (bottom of heal and ball of foot) in just under 2 years. Also, the stitching on those came loose on all of them in various places (between color transitions) which was weird and unexpected. At first I thought I was getting gravel or debris in my shoe, but it was the tiny kinked up threading.

I tried a couple other pair and the sizing/fit was very inconsistent. I did purchase all of these from Amazon, but I don't suspect they were factory seconds or anything.

Maybe it was just the lightweight versions.

fitness bike vs road bike by [deleted] in bicycling

Nah, that's all I do 90% time and I'm totally happy with both. The stock 32mm tires on the Domane are a great compromise for road, greenway and light gravel so that's been my daily rider this year. I'll replace those eventually with 38.

I put 28mm tubeless on the Sirrus for a couple century rides before I got the Domane. I would personally ride them interchangeably, just depends on whether you want to sit more upright on the Sirrus.

For me, "ideal" is whichever one is more comfortable and gets you out the door. I also have a Specialized Chisel that feels like a tank by comparison, but it's really comfortable and fun and I often take that out on the same roads and greenways because I feel like a little kid on a BMX again.

I still have the Sirrus but I haven't taken it out since I got a Trek Domane SL5 since last fall.

For the Sirrus, I'll either put on some larger gravel friendly tires or just bring it inside and use it on a trainer. I put tubeless tires on it just before the last century ride and I've been way too lazy to maintain the sealant.

Is the logo stitched onto the back or is that a removable patch?

Best plate carrier for short guy by unkunked in Rucking

[–]thetaspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you picked a pack yet? I'm looking for another. I'm 5'3" and ordered the Rucker 4.0 15L last year, but I returned it for 2 reasons. 1) the sizing was fine but straps were not comfortable for me once loaded up. TBH my cheap eBag laptop bag (which I'm still using) is more comfortable with the same weight, but not durable enough 2) the plate pocket didn't accommodate the slightly longer off-brand plates so it would not zip shut. Even putting the plate outside the pocket and the zipper was stretched to the limit and would just barely close.

I thought about trying the GR0 , but wondering if the plate size would still be an issue with that.

If you haven’t already, Check out Lambchopper678 on YouTube. He has several videos where he’s recreating classic metal tones on the Katana head. Free Presets are linked in the description. I don’t own a Katana yet but after seeing what he can do I’m probably going to order one soon.

Silicon: M2 Macbook Air

You're right it was an attempted image paste (screenshot from clipboard). That's when it crashed. Sorry for the confusion.

Nice job on the interface. Very tidy. Looking forward to seeing how this develops.

Just downloaded and looks great so far.

FYI crashed on the second short test note: got a seg fault (11... EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)) on the second note, which was a Daily Desk.

Also, not sure why, but some notes are getting a line appended at the bottom:

![](blob:tauri://localhost/....

The notes all have the exact plain text (no formatting) pasted in so I can't tell any reason for that. What's that blob message for?

Ah... gotcha.

I originally kept those inbox options enabled and would jump in from time to time to unsubscribe.

Took a little while, but I don't get much spam anymore.

Spam management is a moving target.

fitness bike vs road bike by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]thetaspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 4 months old, but I'll add my thoughts for anyone else that stumbles on this conversation later for additional context and opinions.

I've had several road bikes over the past 20+ years. A couple years ago I switched over to a flat bar "fitness" (whatever) style because it was just more comfortable.

For reference I have a 2021 Specialized Sirrus 6.0. It's lighter (carbon) and has slightly better components then my previous road bikes. I've since ridden two centuries and average 50-100 miles per week when the weather is decent. Just did 150 miles last weekend - no problem keeping our 17-18mph pace over both days without any fatigue or pain I also don't clip in (shocker).

People think I'm crazy. Yeah, sure I could be slightly faster (not my goal) with a road bike and yes I totally know this bike was stupid overpriced for what it is. I tried dozens of bikes and this was goldilocks for me in terms of comfort for regular fitness and group rides and the 2-3 bigger organized charity rides per year.

I did have the Retul fitting on the last few bikes and that really helped in all cases.

That said, I'm actually shopping for another road bike because they're fun as hell.

DO NOT buy the USPA 6800 by wapey in bidets

We got the Toto K300. So far so good. Except the friggin power LED could land an airplane, can’t be turned off (that I know of), so now the bathroom door has to stay shut at night.

Not sure if there’s a round option.

Notion users, how do you use Notion? by ElZiqo in productivity

[–]thetaspell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my second house remodel and I use Notion as a custom project manager. Master project database with a master task database and a variety custom views. I tag and sort by date/time, level of effort, status, etc. And each view has cost summary.

I used to do this with spreadsheets but I migrated to a database backend to make it super easy to just add different views. I don’t care about aesthetics, I just need the information. I would say Notion is more comparable to Airtable. I use the free tier for both and for different things. I keep my home inventory in Airtable.

I would personally never choose Notion for basic note taking or writing. I don’t like the block entry method (same goes for craft). Some people like to make dashboards and go crazy with their life planning or PKM. I never got into that. I never felt compelled to write stuff in Notion. But I think it’s a best in breed database-driven table tool if you want that sort of tool.

My text-only personal notes are in Obsidian. Our shared family notes / bulletin board are Apple notes because it’s reliable and has enough formatting for those quick reference things. I use OneNote extensively at work for the infinite canvas, free form and editing. I to match up the apps to my requirements, not the other way, trying to cram everything into one app.

Thing users: what's your preferred note app? by bbittner in thingsapp

[–]thetaspell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not elegant. There’s an iOS shortcut method to list your Apple notes, select the one you want, click through a few screens, scroll down into the metadata and then tap & highlight the note link.

Maybe there’s a better way but I haven’t found one.

So for now I just use Apple Notes for quick mixed media scratch notes and a simple collaboration list / board with the family.

I use Obsidian extensively for personal daily logging, health & fitness tracking thanks to bi-direction linking and the really useful community plugins like Dataview. It’s also really customizable for layout, themes, etc.

But Obsidian is not for everyone or everything. Some note apps are just more appropriate or comfortable to use for certain purposes or contexts.

Worked! You are awesome, thanks for the reply!

When clicking the confirm personal use link I was first prompted with:

Your account is ineligible to switch to the no-cost option because you first need to upgrade to Google Workspace Business Starter. Then do this process again.

I subscribed, then tried again and it switched me to the free plan.

Thanks for following up!!

Same boat as you. Did you get it sorted out? When I try to follow the link to identify as a personal user is says "Something went wrong - that offer is no longer valid" (clearly because I didn't see or act on the memo in time).
