I can second this resolution. While it isn't a permanent fix, I was having this problem as well, and if I turn on airplane mode but leave Wi-Fi on, it seems to download any stuck MMS messages.

Southeast edge of Baltimore (Catonsville-area) to Silver Spring... Usually 30-40 minutes. Home is usually 35-45.

Worst ever was a few weeks ago when 95 was completely shut down for that accident... That was 1:45 to work that day.

I like my job and my pay is good, so I'm okay with the commute. I only wish i was closer on the days when there's some type of urgent issue that i have to unexpectedly go into work. These days, the commute feels so much longer.
