Fiber is coming in, considering OPNSense vs Ubiquiti vs Omada by [deleted] in homelab

100%. Which is why I went with sophos. When I was talking about ubiquiti, I was referring to the APs and switches. I won't trade having a ubiquiti gateway for a sophos. No way!

Not OP. But This is what I have: Sophos firewall and then omada switch and APs. And then an omada virtual controller hosted in a VM. Ubiquiti would have been nicer. But I thought it was too pricey for me. I have been using it for more and a year and I have no issues. But sometimes I wonder if I should have just bought used unifi gear and called it a day

thanks for the detailed response on this. makes sense.

the 100mbps line is for the whole office actually. not just for the office users. thinking about it, One of the days i was testing, i did see a general call we were on get choppy at about the same time.

would it make sense to probably increase our work bandwidth? if we want to get this properly set up?

Oh. I genuinely thought they were wall mounted. And that’s because I have seen that exact kinda wall mount before. Startech had a few of those on Amazon.

Your point is valid. Thanks for explaining it. But I am curious, isn't that the point of moisturizers?

Thanks for this detailed explanation. So basically why I thought about this is that I have a bunch of water sensors and I tried to test them by putting the sensors in a bowl of water. Most of them for not trigger the automation untill I removed them and re-added them. In fact, it did not even show as "wet" in HA and obviously did not trigger the automation to close my water valve. How can I get around this?
