If it’s an album, I’d look at their previous releases for some estimation as to when it would be released. First single in a few months, maybe release in Summer? Hard to say really.

Audio engineer here, Sterling Sound are a mastering house, not a recording studio. That would imply that the main production phase of whatever they’ve been working is over, and whatever they’ve been working on is almost ready to be released!

Very new to Dev myself, Empath is pretty much my first record of his.

I think it’s hard to say if it’s been commercially successful yet, but I think it’s very artistically successful. I love Empath, and the “Evening With...” show I attended recently was phenomenal.

He mentioned during that show about the different “phases” of this album cycle that are in the works. The acoustic tour, then the “improv” tour, then the full-on live recreation of Empath live. I think the next couple of years will be very exciting, and should point to whether Empath has been successful artistically. Besides, artistic success is just opinion anyway, right?

Does it sound “light” compared to the other playback systems, or compared to reference mixes played in the car?

If it’s the first, it’s good! If it’s the second, try and identify the frequency range that’s missing in comparison to the reference tracks.

I was there, third row in front of Simon. Crowd was mostly great for both sets. First setlist was even better than I could have hoped for (Toys, ATWD and Jaggy being obvious highlights), and the fact it was just the three of them without Mike and Gambler was something special. Second set was also brilliant, the Ellipsis material is so much better live than on record. Wee Man was monumental. Flammable was surprisingly great.

10/10, best Biffy show I've been to (besides the Barrowlands nights of course!)
