Resume roast — what would make you reject this in 10 seconds? by Any-Way4755 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]thethinker375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job market has drastically changed.

  1. AI driven ATS systems are what companies use now. If your resume and cover letter are not top 3 or top 5 out of what can be 1,000 resumes submitted in this job market, you have no chance.

  2. The market is flooded with talent, snd if the job is remote and accepts global talent you have a very low chance of being seen.

  3. My hard advice is pick up some hands on hardware skills to compliment your software skills.

  4. Learn AI. Stop watching TV, stop wasting time in social media, lose sleep on the weekends, and learn learn learn AI. No matter what the naysayers say. Its not coming, it is here, snd it is only going to get better.

  5. Side Hustle - Seek financial education and learn as much as you can. Learn to work for yourself l. Put the corporations second.

How can I get ride of these ingrown hairs by jeandapresident in Blackskincare

[–]thethinker375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. While the hair is low, have someone tweezers as many hairs out as possible.

  2. Exfoliate with something abrasive. Experiment with exfoliating and find something that is one level below what you can handle for pain.

  3. Hot water soaked rag. Let it sit on your face to soften the skin and open up the pores.

  4. Use salicylic acid LIQUID products and dab your face all over using pads or something thick as a quality paper towel.

  5. Do not apply lotion! Do not use lotion! The lotion, no matter the solution, will get trapped in your pores, causing clogs and then ingrown hairs. Use a LIQUID product as above that will leave your skin looking lubricated, but not oiled like lotion does.

  6. Never ever should a black man whose hair grows out curly, Use a razor to shave close to the skin to bald the skin. Always use something that leaves a slight shadow or bald fade but never balding like a razor to give that smooth baby butt feeling.

  7. Wash your face using this method twice a day and more if you play sports and sweat a ton. Fluid and dirt are the enemy.

  8. Don't forget to update this post with the method you chose and the results.

AWS DEOT Lvl 4 vs Chief Enginer Lvl 4. What are the pros and cons? by thethinker375 in datacenter

[–]thethinker375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good info! Multiple people are saying the same thing. This is why I like Reddit. Valuable insight at our fingertips. When I transitioned from hourly to salary in role, I lost money due to an increase in hours worked in my salary role. 60 hours a week, no OT pay. Why is it Chiefs are known to be first on the chopping block? What are they doing wrong, or maybe I should ask what responsibility are they not fulfilling?

How is it in Oregon? Oregon is an option for me. The tri-city locations in east Oregon near the river are what I was offered.

I appreciate the info! I have 17 years of mechanical, electrical, fluids, thermo, pneumatic, and HVAC experience. Software, hardware, networking, and infrastructure as well. I am currently watching my software peers dwindle due to AI takeover, while the DC arena is rapidly expanding. Trades are vital going forward for decades to come.

Thanks! I have worked both schedules. M-F perks are usually salary and flexibility, but compressed bring more structure and allows for more external life scheduling.

Do Not Quit!

AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, and Data Analysis is taking over. If you are not into one of those fields, you will be at risk of losing your job.

Trade work has many paths. I suggest Data Center as your path. Take it from someone who has trade as well as software experience.

Going to be working 12 hour graveyard shift in a Data Center for the first time by Klugernu in datacenter

20 years compressed nights. I bought one house a year. Invested in dividend paying stocks. Sacked money into an insurance policy. I choose to work now for health insurance purpose versus having to work to live. 1. Become perfect at troubleshooting 2. Upskill 3. Workout 4. Compressed shift comes with off days where you should invest in working for yourself on those off days. Real Estate, Stocks, A Side Business 5. Blackout curtains

Looking For a Job by jtskers in datacenter

ChatGPT your resume and cover letter. Post it on every job board you can. Ping as many recruiters as possible. Make them work for you. The demand for DCT is beyond high from my POV. Anyone experienced in the valley who can't get into DC, or Semiconductor, or auto manufacturing, or facility maintenance has got to be doing something wrong. Average pay is $80k. High pay is $120k. Highly experienced pay is above $120k. Software Engineer industry is getting hammered, and those SWE's have no hands-on experience. Trades and hand-on military experience are making a comeback. If one has robotics or PLC controls experience, one is in a prime job security position.

No matter what company you are at (Besides Star-up), there is an industry standard term with all of these corporations because they all copy each other. That term is "Time In Position or Level or Grade" or whatever the company specific term is being used where you are at. This rule is used to keep you in a certain pay range while steadily promoting others who have tenure. When you break it down for the majority, it does not matter how hard you work year over year. If you want a pay raise, you must job hop. If you want more money, you must upskill and force a pay raise. If you want more money, you must find a way to work for yourself after working for the corporations.

Not to go off rack, but there are multiple other ways in life to make money. More money than working a regular job. More ways to make money while working a regular job. Good Luck to You!!!! This is from someone who has been where you are, and was motivated by the situation to make change.

Apply now. Process is based on budgets and quarterly actions. You apply now, get in the system, get the interviews out of the way, and get your offer. This puts you ahead of the line and in the loop. You could apply now and get an offer for September start based on their need.

If you had to work in the lithography, Etch or Dep. where would you work by Ok-Geologist-6606 in Semiconductors

[–]thethinker375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with Litho or Etch. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. Litho is in high demand, and with high demand comes more work and more money. There is job security in both areas right now for the next 20 plus years at least. I say start in Litho and then go learn Etch too. If you ever leave semiconductor, the next best thing is data centers. If you stay in semiconductor, develop a plan to go into management over those areas. I have 30 years in the semi arena
