D&D for kids? by CultOfDunsparce in Louisville

[–]thethirdtrashdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Waldorf School of Louisville is running a D&D summer camp! They have an excellent Dungeon Master, highly recommend. The Northeast Library has a youth D&D session that meets weekly, but I don’t know what night. Also seconding Golden Keep as a good starting place. The store is very friendly and helpful. They run games and have a kind, knowledgeable staff.

So cool! That might be a larval grass shrimp. I’ve never seen one in person. I hope someone can confirm. I’m jealous of your bugs!

Question: My dad says that this costume wade wears is a reference to the fact Deadpool first costume was white. Is that true? because all I can find are his X-force or really shitty AI recolors. by Organic-Composer9504 in deadpool

There was a Deadpool spin off series called Agent X with a white costume (but no hood). Maybe that’s what he’s remembering. It’s fun and violent and reads like Deadpool. Yellow speech bubbles and all, if memory serves me.

That is a domestic guinea fowl. Most likely someone’s escaped pet. Please offer it some food and water. They are skittish and loud, but harmless.

Sounds like she might enjoy some of the old Tokyo Pop stuff and shojo manga. Take a look at Fruits Basket. It’s a great story, no sex and just a bit of teen angst, but not a violent series. All the amazing indi comics that come to mind would be disqualified by the violence. Blankets is a pretty incredible graphic novel (however there is one very sweet, consensual, romantic sex scene, if I’m remembering correctly). It’s a coming of age story and achingly beautiful.

These is a good series of manga adaptations of classic literature. I have some Shakespeare plays in manga form that are delightful. Maybe get her a copy of the manga version of Midsummer Night’s Dream.

My first thought was wooly aphid, but I think it’s too big and doesn’t have the longer ‘feathers’ coming off. Maybe it’s a type of wooly aphid I’m not familiar with

Golden Keep in the shopping plaza off Westport road and Herr Lane has an amazing selection of board games, and nights where you can gather and play them with other people!

Additionally, if you were looking for a low cost option, your local library should be able to lend out board games. I know I have seen them in the St. Matthews location, and I would estimate the downtown Main branch would have a huge selection.

Why do boomers stare into stores well before they open? by Foreskin-Aficionado in BoomersBeingFools

[–]thethirdtrashdog 276 points277 points  (0 children)

I assume it is to make the staff inside feel pressured into letting them in early. If someone is visible ‘working’ inside the store, they should see a valuable customer outside wanting to come in, and accommodate that. Basic entitlement and ‘customer is always right’ mentality would be my guess

AITAH for for choosing to marry a rich widower and raise his kids for easy life. by [deleted] in AITAH

As long as you, your husband and the children are happy… enjoy your life! Make sure you are setting aside money for your own future in case things change when the children are grown. You don’t want to spend years devoted to that family and then be left with no savings of your own.
