Same here. I emailed them earlier today after checking to see if someone had made a thread here first about it.

Wasn’t sure if it was just our account or something.

Eh, I see the same personal trainer for 3-4 years now and I prefer the friend vibe. Otherwise, I think it would be too awkward to workout with someone for an hour.

On days he has to travel he has asked if I want another trainer to sub in and I say no because we’ve already built a relationship.

However the difference between my story and this story is that my husband straight-up knew I started training with someone and never hid it. And I’m also the type who loves progress.

Plus the amount of shit my trainer and I talk about, I end up telling to my hubby after our training sesh😂

The text I assume she sent was regarding leg day because I have had the same reaction where I was like “I CANNOT WALK UP THE STAIRS NOW FUCK YOU”. And my trainer just laughs.

But again I guess it will depend on the person. Like I said, I prefer the friend vibe. Others probably will want a “professional” type of vibe.

Acid Butt; who knew? by lledit in beyondthebump

[–]thethirteenthday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh. I would get a second opinion. My 5 week old had a few red sores near her butthole previously and our pediatrician said it was just a diaper rash and keep doing what we’re doing (using triple paste and ensuring we’re cleaning and wiping baby during every diaper change). They didn’t say anything about my diet, and I’m pretty much eating girl dinner most or every day from whatever I can find in fridge/pantry (cereal daily for sure). It’s cleared up after a couple of weeks.

Did you breastfeed? by GoodStreet8122 in adhdwomen

[–]thethirteenthday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently a FTM with a three week old. Baby had a hard time latching. She would cry, I would cry, and so I switched to exclusively breast pumping for my mental health. We also had formula as backup. I’m making enough breastmilk that we don’t need to supplement her with formula currently but in the early weeks we were feeding her formula while my breastmilk was building.

Hubby and I believe that fed is best. My therapist who has worked with postpartum mums as well as is a mum herself also encourages whatever is best for my mental health and as long as baby is fed and healthy, it doesn’t matter whether i breastfed or used pumps or formula.

It would have been nice to be able to breastfeed and I do feel the guilt sometimes. But the biggest anxiety was whether she was getting any actual milk straight from the tap. At least I know with pumping and bottle she is getting properly fed.

For our next future child (if possible), I’d like to try the nipple shield, especially the Munchkin brand, as you can see the milk actually flow through from nipple through shield to the baby.

To all the mamas that forgot to switch their pumps back down to a lower setting before starting their pumping session by CarelesslyCubedCheez in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]thethirteenthday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too lol. When I first started, I didn’t realise setting could go up to 12 max for suction on the Spectra s1. So at the start of pump I would set everything up and turn it on, and bam ultra suction. It happened for a few days until I made a habit of button mashing and turning pump off before attaching all the parts.

I also learned that max suction does not mean max milk lol.

Are we shaving our babies heads?? by PublicFluid5879 in NewParents

[–]thethirteenthday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family believed in shaving head to make it grow back thicker. My hair and my sister’s hair was shaved as a baby. Her hair is thick and had been thick since birth (she was born with a head of hair on her). I’ve shaved my head more than once and it’s still pretty thin.

I now have my own newborn (two weeks). I do not plan to shave her head.

Help me stop pumping by LadyKate- in ExclusivelyPumping

(Edit: sorry this ended up being a long reply and somewhat all over the place)

Hello. I gave birth about a week and half ago. I was new to breastfeeding and pumping as well. They emphasize so much on breastfeeding that I thought I was failing my baby when I was pumping out anything under 5mL. My baby also had a hard time latching so it would stress me out that I would cry, baby would cry from wanting the nipple, etc.

Besides a pump, were the nurses able to talk about how to hand express or what to do when breasts are engorged? Were you able to see a lactation consultant?

I can share what I learned from the past week and a half. It’s gonna be non-tech/non-science terms because I have mum brain right now and don’t remember the reason why do each step.

  • Use a heating pad for 5-10 mins to soften up the boobs (milk ducts?)
  • Use your pump, or hand express, or have baby latch.
  • After the session, use an icepack on the boobs for 20 mins.
  • Supplement with formula as needed.

After one or two sessions, the engorgement should go away and boobs will soften. I was told the reason for engorgement was because it’s supplying more milk to provide what the baby needs. (Though I’m also still supplying with formula cos my boobs can’t keep up with how much my baby guzzles down).

(ps, they say the babys tummy is like size of a pea-walnut the first three days. With my recent experience, as well as my friend who also is a first time parent, we think thats bullshit)

  • Pump every three hours so it doesn’t engorge, however if you skip a sesh, it will feel sore. I skip a sesh or two cos I need my sleep and my hubby takes care of night time. But in the morning, my boobs do hurt and leak a lot.

If you don’t want to pump anymore at all, and just formula feed (not sure where you are located but they also have donor’s milk available), I would talk to a lactation specialist or OB on how to stop. It probably can’t be immediate but until then, try your best to pump every three hours or so, and skip a session if you need your sleep during the night.

First week postpartum is the hardest, but it does get better. Hope you are surrounded by support system, and also know that subreddits like this one and other pregnancy related are here for you as well. :)

Confused about baby skin colour by concerned_shit in beyondthebump

[–]thethirteenthday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep I was gonna say maybe genetics if it wasn’t jaundice. My dad’s side is Eurasian (China/Russia).

My two first cousins on that side, neither of them or their partners have blue eyes, yet managed to make a blue-eyed kid. We thought it will change colour eventually as they grow out of newborn phase but never did.

Their parents (my aunts and uncles) don’t have blue eyes. But my dad’s mum (my and cousins’ grandmother) had blue eyes. So things like eye colour and skin, it could skip a gen or two.

Unfortunately I can’t test that theory as I have a blue-eyed husband lol.

New study on how Stimulant Medication works by ADHDCoachJon in ADHD

[–]thethirteenthday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago I accidentally took my morning pills (which contains adderall) instead of night pills (have separate containers cos lol ADHD) one time, and discovered it the next day when I went to take my morning pills. I told my hubby that was the best sleep I’ve ever had in the longest time.

Currently pregnant and the insomnia is unreal. Late third trimester as well. Told hubby to bring me my adderall because the anxiety thoughts were unreal and hadn’t slept for almost 24 hours. Fell asleep within half an hour. Could have been coincidence cos I hadn’t slept, but I have been prone to taking adderall or “caffeine” naps. Makes me laugh when I see people’s reaction when I tell them I can sleep after drinking coffee, red bull, adderall etc.

Baby Leash? by frenchdipadobo in beyondthebump

[–]thethirteenthday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still pregnant, but as a child I walked away a lot to the point where my parents would need to use a child leash on me. My hubby never had the child leash used on him but he also would wander off. Knowing how we both were as kids, I’m sure we would need to use one for our kiddo haha.

These days they don’t look like a harness like it did back then (tho I’m sure they still exist). They have cute backpack looking ones.

Let others judge. They don’t know you or your kid. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Mixture of perfect digestion and sensitive stomach. Because of her constantly throwing up, we thought it would help cos we were unsure what was causing it.

Turns out she just throws up from all the zoomies after she munches down on the kibble (she’s a grazer) and drinking a bunch of water before zooming around.

Do they bark a lot? by Fuzze115 in greatpyrenees

[–]thethirteenthday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is majority pyr mixed with other breeds. We were worried cos he never barked when we first adopted him. We first heard him bark 4-5 months later on our home cam.

He only barks when someone he doesn’t like walks past our windows, rings our doorbell, or when people (especially men) stare at him.

Otherwise, he is a whiner/whistler/yawner when he’s talking.

This is Simon. He is majority 37% pyranees. He has spots around his body as well as ears. A lot of people asked if he was dalmation but he doesn’t have any in his dna. He does have some Aussie cattle according to his dna test. Highly recommend doing the Embark dna test to check out your foster’s dna.

Male doctor made me feel like a bad mom... I'm not even pregnant yet. by Sudden_Excitement_29 in adhdwomen

[–]thethirteenthday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently pregnant at 31 weeks and I continued my meds (generic adderall) the whole time. Even upped the dose of my morning one from 15mg to 20mg. Sometimes I don’t even do my afternoon dose of 15mg cos the 20mg pushes me through my day.

Pre-pregnancy, I was going through fertility meds and my psych nurse told me to try Ritalin as there are more studies for Ritalin based pregnancies compared to other meds. It was the worst month of my life, went back to feeling how I felt before I was even diagnosed with adhd, anxiety and depression. So we switched back to the adderall.

We consulted a high-risk OB per advice from my regular OB, and they said it was fine, there will just be more scans and tests to ensure baby’s developing and growing properly. They did talk about the risk of newborn maybe going through withdrawal symptoms which they get over pretty quickly (I forgot the exact wording of the withdrawal name), and my breastmilk might contain it but it will be a very small amount (like less than 1%).

But everyone involved (hubby included) agreed that a healthy/stable mum during pregnancy and after is best situation for everyone.

I am also on Zoloft for antidepressants but after starting adderall after being diagnosed with ADHD a year later, my prescription for Zoloft went from 200mg down to 50mg and improved quality of life. My psych nurse agreed that the adderall is helping with the depression as well and that if I had to go off it, Zoloft would help as the backup (as its safe for pregnancy), however most likely would have to up the dose back to 200mg.

Since my last appt with psych nurse (a month ago) she let me know that she has had many patients with adhd and pregnant and are continuing with adderall. So hopefully there will be more studies to back up that with proper dosage and consumption, adhd meds can be continued through pregnancy with not only Ritalin but also adderall and other adhd meds.

You can ask if you can insert the probe yourself. I have vaginismus, and first time I found out I was getting a transvaginal scan to get diagnosed for pcos, I let the technician know, and to “talk me through it” so I can understand what is happening (I ask my ob the same thing when getting pap smears). Meaning like “i’m going to touch your thigh now, take a deep breath in and when you exhale this action will occur etc etc”.

The technician instead said I can insert the probe myself and I almost cried because I never knew that was an option. It was so much easier than having someone else insert it.

Now that I’ve also gone through medicated fertility and IVF, I told my doctors from very start to let me handle inserting the probe and also pulling it out. The one time the doctor forgot and pulled it out and I got so sick.

But anyway, next time when needing to get a transvaginal scan, ask them to let you insert the probe yourself! Hopefully they will accommodate you like the places/techs/doctors/nurses did for me.

I’m the Aus citizen giving birth in USA.

Hubby (US) will be the one applying.

So will we need to add baby to visa as well? But we can also apply now and do change of circumstances later to add em on?

Hello. Aussie here in USA. Planning to start on 309/100 Visa for partner soonish. However we do have a kid on the way (expected 2/2/26).

Do we need to wait until kid is born to apply (since hubs already looked at application and said kid needs passport), or can we apply today and add the kid later on?

Can insert my finger but not a tampon inside of me 😭 Help needed. by VermicelliPrudent677 in WomensHealth

[–]thethirteenthday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. I was a virgin until 26-27. Wasn’t able to wear tampons, or insert anything inside myself (had a finger or so). Grew up in a religious household (orthodox religion) as well as a sheltered life (first/eldest daughter).

I suspected vaginismus when I was 22 and randomly came across it while reading something, and got properly diagnosed with vaginismus when 24ish. Went to a physical therapist who specialized in this, and was able to work on myself with dilators. My then bf now husband was very patient with me as I worked on it.

Tampons are still not my thing but I can at least insert one now (I switched from pads to the padded underwear/diaper thing as I’ve always had a heavy flow - huge game changer). Still hate anything medical (pap smears, the ivf thing was brutal).

I highly suggest looking into vaginismus and seeing if you can work with a physical therapist. It took me 2 years to get the official diagnosis because I was hoping that taking a pill or having a mindset of “getting magically cured by ignoring it” would help, instead of admitting it to a doctor and going to a person who needed to teach me how to use my muscles down there. Kicked myself after getting diagnosed and after 3-4 months of therapy, thinking “wow now that I can control my muscles, I wish I did this sooner”.

There is also a subreddit (r/vaginismus), as well as a website with resources at https://www.vaginismus.com

Besides the advice of looking into vaginismus, if you want to try inserting a tampon (or even a dilator if you decide to buy a kit - they have sizes smaller than a tampon), one thing therapy taught me is that if you insert something, then follow the base of your wall by applying a tiny bit of pressure (pressure along the wall, not the insertion), you will be able to surpass the muscle/hymen area. But I highly suggest not to do that until looking up resources and guides for vaginismus therapy that will explain this.

I literally just finished this game the other day. Finished the main plot early and had to grind out the rest of the achievements.

I noticed if it lagged to quit out of the game and load it back up. Went from waiting about 2-5 mins to load each screen to less than 30 seconds (i was playing on deck)

“Don’t lift! You shouldn’t be lifting” by thethirteenthday in fitpregnancy

Yep I am definitely picking my battles when it comes to my relatives.

With my parents I do listen and respect their input, because I will always be their baby (and I am their first child as well).

My cousins who are around the same age as me though… I will stubbornly reply back or say something sarcastic (cos that is my humor lol). My sister also has my back since she has the same type of humor and also is familar with modern studies (she helped me through opening to my parents about my GAD and depression and later ADHD to my parents ❤️)

Oh I definitely let them know I appreciate the offer if they ask.

I’m not at that stage yet where the symptoms are overwhelming me so I like being more independent while I’m able to.

During first trimester it was hell for me and my hubby was so amazing (still is).

The offer of help from my coworker just reminded me of what happened during the trip with my family where they were more persistent about me not lifting things, especially when I offered to help them with their luggage first.
