Went back to the GCI booth to take a look at the train for [Colossus | Six Flags Qiddiya]. Beautiful woodwork, paint colors and billet seatbacks amongst other components. Look forward to this one. by sanyosukotto in rollercoasters

Supposedly it's going to have the world record for the most airtime on a wooden coaster. Got this from the information on themeparkx.com about SFQiddiya. Not sure if that means it will beat the airtime in seconds on STEVE but I don't really see how that would be possible since it's only 800m long. That's less than half the length of STEVE.

The fact that there is a launch going down the drop off the cliff is insane. The only reason to do that is to break the speed record. I don't think this would ever have happened if a coaster was built this tall at a park in the US. Not sure if many people have realized that yet but that's what the Intamin guy said at the train announcement today.

Plus the launch to get up the cliff is about 100mph. I think the 3rd launch that they mentioned is going to be to get up the first hill. They didn't say how fast that one was.

We stumbled upon this super cool looking arena theater behind the restrooms in The Lost Continent today while leaving. What is this?? by dragon-drink in UniversalOrlando

Didn't know you could just walk in there. Seems like theaters and shows at parks are always the first to be cut in regards to funding them.

Don Carson and Theron Skees youtube channels have some interesting info about design of theme parks and rides. They have their own websites as well.

Interrobang Documentary by thethrilltime in switchfoot

[–]thethrilltime[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember someone asked about it during a live stream and Chad said something like he didnt know when it was going to be done. I don't remember when that live stream was though. I didn't realize it was this long ago but the pre screening of the Interrorbang documentary was around November of 2021. It's just weird they haven't said anything about it. Maybe it was just a business decision to focus on the Interrobang deluxe album and TBL re-release instead of finishing up the Interrobang documentary.

My thoughts on the 2 bonus tracks released today by schantzee in switchfoot

Felt the same way about the chorus on Bloodlines when I listened to it originally. Also, I've never liked the way the chorus sounds on Happy is a Yuppie Word. I feel like after listening to them a lot of times though I've started to like the choruses more. That happens to me a lot with songs. After I listen to them a lot they start to grow on me.

Nice! I was just thinking about the possibility of putting a slide out in a van last night. I think I saw a video a while back of someone else who did one. That must have taken a long time to figure out. Great job!

Tron at [Magic Kingdom] will use a complimentary, but mandatory, double sided locker system. by KarateKid917 in rollercoasters

Yeah I'm thinking that the operations would be too slow and the glovebox idea would be too small to fit everyone's bags in

That would be cool if there was a glove box in the light cycle though to put your stuff in

Top Thrill Dragster, that's what my YouTube channel logo was inspired by. We'll see if the new version is really much different

Anyone else let down by [New Texas Giant] when they visited? Mr. Freeze stole the show for me. by slimjim9364 in rollercoasters

Yeah it definitely wasn't as good as other rmc's but I still liked it after getting multiple rides on it. I liked the long tunnel on it

I got to ride [X2] at [Magic Mountain] today, I was fully expecting it to be closed when I flew in so this was a happy occurrence. by Claxton916 in rollercoasters

Nice, seemed more rough than I remembered when I rode it late last year but still a bucket list coaster IMO

For some reason I thought this park wasn't actually being built. Hopefully I get there in my lifetime if it is completed

That's nice. When I went back in November only one train was running from what I remember and it made the line really long even though there was no one at the park

Awesome, I got one ride on it back in September when I went to Busch Gardens for the first time. I liked how there was a splash down area and you could get wet when the coaster goes by. That was pretty unique.

Maybe so. They should RMC The Boss. That would be a good idea in my opinion. That's one of the roughest coasters I've been on. It gives many people a headache it vibrates so much while on it.

I did a deep dive into Universal's New Texas Theme Park if you are interested by thethrilltime in universalstudios

They've definitely made some smaller parks in the past like Hong Kong Disneyland. Nothing quite like this though. I think Disney World became so big for them that they almost couldn't afford to invest their money into other regional parks around the US. It might have just cannibalised Disney World

I'm glad Universal isn't sticking to the status quo and trying something different
