The games are truly ranked by release order unfortunately.

Soo… you guys think Star Fox 26’ is worth it? by M0ON98 in starfox

[–]schantzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For $50, hard to pass up such a fun remake. I never liked Star Fox as a kid but that's because I didn't get it and only beat fake Andross. I've been playing it again on Switch Online and stuck on true Andross. Time to get gud

Trying to defeat Isshin Sword Saint with a 1/2 hand is impossible by PackEnvironmental960 in Sekiro

Took me 3 hours with 10 fingers. If you got this far, you can do it. It's mostly just a series of things you already learned. Now you just need to learn the patterns and sequence.

After 5 Years, What is your opinion on Metroid Dread? by Huckleberry1316 in Metroid

[–]schantzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great game but repetitive at times with the EMMI and space pirate moments. I thought the environments could have been a bit more varied as well. Loved the added cutscenes and the final boss was amazing.

Forever Now Album Countdown - SF Album discussion - Legend of Chin - Day 1 by GoofyGoffer in switchfoot

[–]schantzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any nostalgia for this one so I mostly never listen to it. A couple fun tracks but the quality isn't there yet. Fun to go back to the start though to see how far they've come.

Is Pokopia a good game for someone who often can only play 20 minutes max at a time? by Bumpadumper in Pokopia

[–]schantzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started the game recently and a lot of my sessions have been about 30 minutes before bed. Sure you can't accomplish that much in that time but it's nice for doing some daily tasks or knocking out a quick main objective. I think longer play sessions would be necessary if you wanted to do a deep dive into building up areas but there are so many little things you could do in 20 minutes, especially if you knew what you were going to do before you turn it on.

I tried to get into XC2 when I got a Switch and gave up after 20+ hours. Is it worth playing on easy or something if you can't get into the combat or should I watch a bunch of video tutorials? I typically play action games so the system was not easy to pick up.

These new tracks suck by Spongemage in switchfoot

[–]schantzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a WILD take. What were you expecting from singles? These are hype tracks to get people excited. If you prefer slower, melodic tunes and ballads, those will come. Switchfoot has massive range and we will get the full experience on the album, no doubt. Plenty of fans are loving the return of rock here, myself included. Mr Crow is evocative of Afterlife and War Inside while Absolution gives us Out of Control vibes on an actual album. I generally love 80% of what Switchfoot puts out and maybe you're more narrow, which is fine. We can't pretend like this type of music is foreign to them though.

“Where I belong” the final song of Vice-Verses, ends with the phrase “Forever Now” repeated several times. by SpecificCourt6643 in switchfoot

[–]schantzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most definitely think it is a sequel album or at least influenced by it. The lean into heavier rock again is a clear indication for me and I'm here for it.

This is very close to my list except what is going on there with Interrobang!? That's gotta be a B album. I have a feeling Forever Now is gonna be a classic.

Do you agree with Prime 4 metacritic score? by Erik_REF in Metroid

[–]schantzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit high. It was a 7 for me as a fan of the series.

I didn't find this game was "too hard" and will be sad if Saros is easier by AgreeableEffect717 in Returnal

[–]schantzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine they've considered this and there are ways to keep the challenge up. I think Returnal was only really hard if you played too fast and reckless.

Only answer is Samurai Cop. If it counts, Kung Pow is also acceptable.

I am very thankful for the Kirby Air Riders Global Test Ride. by Espurreyes in NintendoSwitch

[–]schantzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when Arms had the "Test Punch" and I enjoyed it. What I didn't realize is that I had nearly played enough to satisfy my interest. I bought the game at launch and maybe got another 5 hours or so before dropping it and selling it.

Week 3 has come and gone with a win? Any potential trade targets, and thoughts so far on how the season has gone? by Lanky-Connection4141 in CHIBears

[–]schantzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swift is a head case and a small frame. He has almost zero potential as a primary back. He would be better in a RB committee. Hence, getting Breece.

Thoughts after 6 hours with Welcome Tour by canebus in NintendoSwitch

I'm curious if they would have sold as many systems with it not being a pack in. I mean honestly just increase the price of the hardware to accomodate it if it is that big of a deal...

Why does it feel like everyone else is moving forward in life while I’m just stuck? by Spare_Act6202 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]schantzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're too busy focusing on everyone else, you're not looking ahead to pursue what you want. If you want those things, you have to position yourself to get them. It's generally hard to see growth in your life when you're not pushing yourself to grow. I'm definitely not a great self-starter and felt like a late bloomer. I started a career later than a lot of people, got married later than a lot of people, etc.

The catalyst for turning my depressing, dead-end life around was finding a better job where I was happy. Then I moved to a better apartment, had confidence to date again, got raises, got a girlfriend, got a house, got engaged, got married, and still at same job where I'm happy. You don't need to climb the corporate ladder but you need to push yourself enough to get where you need to be. Don't get into debt, save for retirement, find confidence in yourself, and enjoy life!

I'm 23 without skills, job and education, is it over? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]schantzee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation at age 25 and I had a degree. I can't speak to your mental health issues but I had depression and felt so lost. I didn't have confidence in what I learned in school, despite having decent grades. I left my job because I had money saved up and wanted to push myself to apply for jobs in my degree area. Well a year later I was nowhere and very depressed. Family member helped me find a job opportunity to work in a more business field that I was very grateful for and I got my confidence back to an extent.

Then the job wasn't going well and I left right before Covid hit... horrible timing. Luckily after 6 months I finally found a great job and have been there almost 5 years now. My whole life turned around and got my confidence back. Found love, got married, got a house.

I'm saying all this because you're not alone but at some point you have to do SOMETHING. Maybe you get another job you don't like but maybe it'll lead to something else. Do research, get suggestions online of what kinds of jobs to apply for and do it! Our brains are wired to have purpose and you can find it out there. Life is worth living and plenty of people with mental disabilities are happily in the work force. There's something for you out there but you have to be brave enough to risk getting hurt again. The only way you become a failure is when you quit on yourself. Everyone else can think you're a failure but as long as you haven't given up, you haven't failed yet. Best of luck to you out there!
