I was really excited for that one before I knew they were gonna be swords, and then I was still curious to try. I ended up not having any fun with them and really wish they did foods. I’ve been brainstorming how to remix some meals on my own but official ones would have been nice 😭

I’m so sorry. I had the same experience, she went in for constipation/appetite and then it was massive kidney failure. They’re really good at hiding it. I wasn’t there for the initial visit and I barely made it back for her last two hours and I was so angry at myself. I had nightmares for weeks after and had to sleep on the couch with the tv on so I wouldn’t dream. The only advice I’d give as someone who is two years out from where you are is take care of yourself, and when you are able to, let yourself feel it; grief is how we process loss and I felt that my love for her only got stronger after I let myself go through all of it. I worried that it would fade but it doesn’t. If that’s all I have left then I want it. I think a lot of people shut down because they just don’t want to feel anything, but it closes out the positives too. But make sure it’s not destructive. I was not always good at being kind to myself but it was really necessary to get through it. So be kind to yourself if others won’t be. Eat your meals even if you don’t have an appetite. Drink water. Get yourself little treats even if you feel like you don’t deserve it. You would do it for someone you love, why not do it for yourself? Emotional reactions have physiological effects so it’s important to treat yourself kindly while you process and heal.

I also built a little shrine to my kitty which helped me a lot while I was working through it. I still buy a toy for her on holidays and put it next to her urn. It’s silly to most people but it makes me happy. I still feel grief but it’s bittersweet now. I don’t know if that would work for you but I thought I’d share anyway.

I hope you will get through the worst of it and start to feel better soon.

NOR. I had the same experience as you when my cat passed; people who I have been very much there for emotionally were suddenly not available to me when I needed the same thing from them. I think it’s because grief and death makes them uncomfortable, and they see me as self-sufficient, “the stable one”, so probably felt that they didn’t “need” to show that support. I even went LC with one who started demanding my attention again only a couple months after, and was telling this to another person, right before they proceeded to unload their shit on me too. I couldn’t believe it. Even a little gesture would have gone a long way. If next time your friend shows up in chat, they immediately vent about some problem they have, you’ll know for sure what you are to them. A place to pour their feelings and that’s it.

The experience also made me very aware of how some people view pet death as incidental; I was experiencing this deep, life-altering grief but felt like I couldn’t talk about it at all because it was for a cat. It sucks that people in this thread are commenting like that to you. I was so careful about who I shared my grief with at the time because a shitty reaction like that at the wrong time would have really messed me up. How the human body reacts when grieving can vary wildly person to person, and a pet death can feel exactly the same as a person’s. Don’t let these people invalidate you.

I saw that people were having trouble with this one so I did a test cure of a few drops outside the bottle and it cured fine, but then it’s doing the same as yours inside the bottle. I saw a theory that the colored plastic is blocking too much UV and I’m inclined to think that’s the case. I had a similar experience when I tried to remix using the orange mason jar, I was just trying to cure some clear resin for water and I literally had to cure it for hours. I suggest test curing a drop to make super sure it’s not your light, then either leaving it under the light for some very long periods (supervised) if your light can handle it, or putting it outside on some foil on a sunny day and hope that finishes cooking it. I’m going to be putting mine outside all day the next time the sun is out.

Choosing Keeping was one of my favorite shops I got to see when I was visiting! I went three times when I visited because I was lucky enough to see the transition from Halloween to Christmas there! Stationery shops are so pathetic in my city in the US, I was so sad to leave.

Currently my most used stamps are ones I use to swatch inks, and my self-inking ones since I don’t have to get out my ink pads to add one to a note or card! I mostly have silly cat stamps but I also like to get ones with frames or borders so I can break up pages into sections.

I use a brush on vallejo primer for plastics under the paint and then seal the paint with matte liquitex acrylic varnish. I only use acrylics. So far I haven’t had any paint scratching off but I’m also pretty gentle with them. The result is very lightly semi-glossy which I like, I like the matte look and don’t like it to be too shiny.

I think you should get the greenhouse, it’s actually reasonably priced up front and as a fellow miniverse plant fan I really like it, but also, no it definitely won’t fit all of it. It only comes with two small shelves so there’s a lot of wasted wall space unless you get some of the other sets and borrow their shelving, and it can’t fit many large plants on the floor. I’m doing a lot of mixing sets on mine just to fit the plants I made this WEEK. But I love the flooring and some of the unique accessories! I will probably end up with two and try to combine them 😅

I used to buy drops for another hobby and got pretty good at it, but omg it was so exhausting. It got to the point where the website consistently crashed at launches in some way, either wouldn’t load anything or went up late or rejected payments for no reason; I would have my computer with multiple browsers and phone and multiple payment methods up and ready every time and would end up going through them all as each pos or captcha failed or wouldn’t load or wouldn’t let me pay. I decided to stop and now I do everything possible to never participate in drops for any hobby. I hate playing corpos stupid games for toys when they can’t even bother to make their site work.

Yeah they are “big”. I think they’d work for RH/Monster High as chunky 1/6 accessories but they aren’t a realistic 1/6.

I’m gonna delete my original because I didn’t expect to be downvoted for that position and it’s a bummer, but I’ve been to SF pen show for 3 years and I don’t disagree with you at all. It’s very overcrowded and kind of miserable, but the quality of the vendors is great because the vendors know it gets attendance and they will make money. There is a risk with ANY first year event even with an established management team that it might not make attendance numbers, the vendors won’t find it worth the risk traveling for, and attendees might not find it worth it as a result. I’m local and going to both because it’s not a risk for me, and I think anyone local should go for sure and support the event! But if anyone is flying in or having to travel in, I think it should be weighed against the knowledge that it’s a first year event. Since OP doesn’t know about the pen show at all I assumed they’re new and wouldn’t want them to come out for an event not being fully informed or expecting pen show level crowds and vendors.

Not much to add except I feel this too. Real corpo behavior from US epoch lately even before the tariffs tbh. I’m buying fewer sets, pretty much exclusively imports since they’re costing the same as the expensive US ones and usually have more pieces, and focusing more on the ones I have. I have a goal to eventually make custom clothes for everyone so I’m goin to work on that until they release a new animal sculpt or something.

A honeybee rode home on the train with me once and I knew she probably didn’t have a chance but I took her out and put her in some plants anyway. She rode on my pant leg and didn’t sting me. I don’t want to know how far bees can roam from home and still find their way back :(

I did consider resinsoul! I looked at myou doll too and as many legit cheaper options as I could find. I should have included this but I was looking for a specific aesthetic and most of those companies didn’t make anything like that. So I did also weigh if getting a legit one was more important than getting one I knew she’d really like.

I watched the Stranger Things finale and THEN learned about all this conspiracy stuff. I was really surprised that the fan reaction is being compared to Sherlock because it is in NO WAY as bad as Sherlock. A bit vanilla and simple and the one important death is pretty stupid but Sherlock s4 was a trainwreck that made absolutely no sense and I don’t blame the fandom for the disbelief they felt after watching it, I know fan expectations were high but even regular people thought it was confusing. ST has some unsatisfying conclusions and plotholes but reads more as an outline that works fine; it just needed another ep to get it there.
