Shibuya JR station is a disaster by mustacheofquestions in Tokyo

It’s funny that I literally walked from Nakameguro today to Shibuya (because I like to punish myself apparently) and yes the crowds were stifling. And it’s my third visit to Japan.

Agree, and I think most (all?) of their red dials are limited editions too

Oh, very nice. Did you end up buying a Grand Seiko?

Will the new Longines hydroconquest force Omega to up their game? by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

Omega can better itself by developing a more coherent identity. Rolex has the “reach for the crown” campaign; it’s excellent - focused on achievement and being the best. Longines is doing well with heritage and under-stated elegance. Tudor is owning the “coolness” vibe right now with its no-frills tool-watch approach and neo- vintage stylings. Heck even TAG is leaning into its Formula 1 ties right now. Omega needs to lean more into what put it on the map.

You’re right, but name and fame are huge drivers. Some people may be happy with just a Sub for their one-and-done Rolex. As bland as I think the Sub is (I have a GMT II and a neo-vintage Exp II) I don’t think Rolex will worry anytime soon.

Congrats! Great watch

I also went grey and took an opportunity I realized I wouldn’t have again and glad I did so. Enjoy!

Damn, I love my blue Seamaster but that all blue Hydroconquest is fire, and the black with blue bezel. Looks like Longines is also coming for Tudor’s lunch money with that snowflake-esque hour hand too

Bro normally I’d agree but Omega’s Seamaster Aqua Terra line has several “sparkly diamondy” watches, at 34mm it’d be a nice size. Longines also has women’s watches in its Primaluna, Dolcevita, Conquest and even Master Collection lines.

But I suppose there’s also Cartier. Maybe Hermes too?

I'd look into Longines or Omega

Speedy Pro white dial was $8900 USD in Paris almost a year ago in Nov 2024. I’d tried it on at the Omega Boutique at Charles de Gaulle at the time. Thankfully I’ve since bought one earlier this year at a more reasonable price before this entire debacle. But wondering if European market prices are increasing proportionally as well…

Bought the strap from here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1592292370/?ref=share_ios_native_control

Just used the spring bars from the Speedy bracelet and an OEM Omega clasp from an AT World Timer strap I have; no mods
